Paris Hotel and Stiff Shirts

Hi wonderful TER Community!

I'm getting ready for what used to be my yearly Vegas trip.  The past two have been cancelled, sadly, but this year is on!  We normally have our event at Mandalay Bay or the Venetian, but this year's is at the Paris Hotel.  So, I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for places to eat and grab drinks close to there (I never have a car).  Always enjoy the places that locals like.  Additionally, any info on ease of meeting special friends whilst there or tips are appreciated.

Speaking of special friends, and stiff shirts, I am terrible at ironing.  This is one skill that has eluded me for my entire adult life, probably because I am deathly afraid of ruining a piece of clothing.  Any of the lovely ladies of TER have expertise in this arena?

Thanks in advance for any advice.  I'm a basic member, so replies here are fine or, if it's something that needs to be kept quiet, my email is [email protected].

Looking forward to seeing some one in late March!

Till then, stay safe and have fun out there.

A Lot of good places there. I recommend if it's late at night, I mean 3am,4am grab a slice of Pizza on the third floor. It's not advertized, the entry is a door. No name...like it's a Secret.
And the Aria has a few joints I like, Javier's and Lemongrass.
But in the corridor going from Paris to Bally's there's a few spot along the way...I never tried any of them.
But where I wouldn't go, in Paris is the Eiffel tower...the view is "meh" food, so, so..kinda overrated if you task me. But if you're with a date, then give it a whack, she'll love the effort.

Hazel,

Good to know.  I'm still a bit out, but I've got you on the list.  I'm glad you responded as I was worried that my request about the lessons in proper clothing care had put some ladies off.

Any recommendations for spots by Paris?

I'm not a local but the last time I stayed at Paris we walked over another block from the strip to a place called Ellis Island.  It looked like the kind of place locals would go to gamble and it was a ton of fun.  Laid back dealers and they brew their own beer.  It's 100 times smaller than a strip casino but we had more fun there than we did at Caesars or anywhere on the strip.

I will say the service at Paris (I think all the Caesars properties) really has taken a dive.  They don't offer laundry service, very limited and slow room service.  No bell hops or anywhere to check luggage from 10pm to 8am.  They blamed it on Covid, but honestly, they just aren't paying employees enough to stick around I think. I was disappointed.

Dang!  That's disappointing to hear, especially the laundry service!  I never get room service (at least food), and I always take my own bags, so that doesn't matter, but I was planning on using the laundry at least.  I work in the service industry so I know how hard it is, but that is rough.  That's for the reco on Ellis Island.  Definitely take that stroll.
