I've made reservations there, but can still cancel for free. Anyone have an opinion, good, bad or indifferent?

In the evening time there is security at the elevators.But other than that it is ok place to stay.

Except for the Cosmo, I am so over The Strip, where they gouge you for everything and have crappy video poker. So you're on the right track already. And The Palms is a lot of fun, very lively on weekends especially. The pool there is great.

Friends all like it when we stay on the strip and can walk everywhere... but either before they arrive, or after they leave and I am hobbying.... I Love Palms Place.  Easy park, access to adult boutiques, great, intimate bar in the lobby.  I love the showers, and even the small rooms have a big couch and plenty of interesting areas to play.... I don't even think of anyplace else to hobby anymor

despite not being able to go out on the balconies in the rooms anymore i still like their one bedroom suites
