$4 grand on the line ... red? Or black?

Only in Vegas ... only in Vegas ...  

Had a dinner/gambling date at the Bellagio. Had a wonderful evening. After dinner and before we went upstairs for "dessert", we went and played some craps. I'm not much into gambling, but I do enjoy "trying" to be my dates lucky charm.

In about a half hours time, he was up $4,000. Was on a great run ... then came the offer. He said he was going to take us to a roulette wheel, and he wanted me to pick red or black. If we won he would split the profit with me, so I suddenly had 4 grand on the line, lol. I would never gamble with 400 never mind 4 grand!  

I bet your thinking this little story is going to have a happy ending.

Nope ...  

I picked red.

The Bellagio chose black.  

Oh well ...

Did not ruin a delightful evening however, and certainly one that I will remember for a while!

Was he crazy? He must have been drunk or smoking something. To waste $4k on a game of chance like that is ridiculous. Then again that money wasn't his hard earned cash. But still.

Nope was not drunk, hehe.

And I'm very anti-drug ... so was not the latter either.

He was very casual about the whole thing actually. Did not even faze him when it came up black. And really even at the time, it did not faze me much. It was when I was driving home that it hit me, hehe.

Afterwards he shared some of his past stories with me. Sounded like dropping 4k was minor for him.

That would be nice if Bellagio chose Red. At least you had a great time!!!

I know when I play craps I tend to bet more when I start winning.  Don't think I could have put down $4000 on Red/Black, a better choice would have been to do anovernight with Lorsha (a sure win).

When you are on a good roll, money doesn't matter. I myself have done the same thing. I at one point put 5k on black. I have won big, lost big, but always had fun doing it. Walked away up 20k in 24 hours, have lost 10k in a weekend. Love gambling... love it
