It was a great time to be alive and living in Las Vegas.
Started out as one party per year, timed to coincide with CES and AVN/Porn Convention (back when ran concurrently). Went to my first one in 2003.
Then there were outings. Bowling at the Orleans. Go cart racing. Fun times.
The partying really exploded (in a good way) in May 2007 with a pool party at a rental house. Man, that party was wild! Continued with a Christmas party that year, with a live band! Another incredible time.
That set the pattern. For the next few years, at least 3 parties per year: summer pool party, Christmas party, and CES/AVN party. Sometimes even a Halloween Party and Super Bowl was thrown! And there were others throughout the year.
I’m convinced that TER started the Meet and Greet discussion board because of what was happening in Las Vegas.
One Christmas party we went ice skating ⛸️ at the rink at the Fiesta Hotel/Casino (the only ice rink in Vegas at the time, does it still exist?) and then had a gag gift (adult novelties) exchange.
Were they fun? Heck yah! Meeting and conversing with the lovely ladies in a social environment was the greatest thing ever. Was it beneficial for the woman of Las Vegas? Go back and read my reviews during that era and count how many started with “I met her at a party.” It wasn’t just local ladies, but those visiting from out of town. People (both ladies and gentlemen) would make trips to Las Vegas just for the parties.
Oh, and it was fun meeting guys and sharing stories about the experiences we had.
What was the reason for the demise of the party scene? Well, there were several reasons in my opinion. Number one: I moved away from Las Vegas in February 2012. Yes, I’m joking. Well, I did move, but parties were capable of going on without me. But it was a coincidence that the parties died almost immediately after my leaving Las Vegas. I have my theories as to their demise, but I’ll save that discussion for another time.
For now I’ll just reminisce about the friends I made and the good times we had.
Been attending Meet n Greets in LA since 2001 and then quite a few in Vegas since 2010 when I moved here. They were fun. Always enjoyed them and meeting girls and guys in the hobby.
At some stage the people attending didnt seem to followup and book appointments as a result of attending and many of the girls were shy and didnt feel that attending the events paid off. It became a social thing not a work networking thing.
Then the paid Soirees started. The girls got compensated for their time and the guys were guaranteed to score and have a great evening interacting with multiple girls. I enjoyed those immensely!!
I do enjoy meeting other providers and really love our "girls" network here in town. We celebrate each other's birthdays and have social get togethers on a regular basis. It feels so good to have that support network of soul sisters!!
