I have been to Las Vegas several times (all on business with a little pleasure sprinkled in...), but my visits have all been between in the late spring/early summer.  I will be coming to town in November (all pleasure this time) with a few buddies and am trying to figure out where to stay.  I have never had to pick my hotel before when visiting the city and just wanted to ask for advice on where a handful of guys in their late 20's/early 30's looking for a fun bachelor party week might enjoy staying.  Also, as a side note, people keep telling me that I should consider the hotel’s pool in my decision, but I am assuming that, while November is not cold in an empirical sense, the pools may not be the most happening features of a hotel at that time of year (are they even open then?).  Any direction would be extremely helpful.

I'm putting it more clear this post.

It seems invariably some gals do respond to these requests for information. However, by and large, most savvy people do not respond with information to a post by an alias, and one never seen before.

Something to consider.

You real name would have been better.

Pool should not be a deciding factor in Nov. IMHO.

Safe Hobbying!

\\\\\bring extra bags of ice and trow it in if it gets too hot....
in november

there a meaningful post for my many detractors

I'm going to go on the assumption that LV Metro knows where and how to run a sting, and not join in the "OMG YOU USED AN ALIAS!!11!!" cries of outrage.

Well, the 20's-30's set probably would go for:

Palms
Caesars Palace
Venetian
Bellagio
Mirage
Planet Hollywood
Mandalay Bay
Hard Rock

Basically, we're talking "casino with some sort of hot, trendy nightclub attached". (I'd put Luxor in there because of LAX, except I don't think they've been keeping Luxor up like some of the other hotels I've mentioned.)

I recommend the following sites for figuring out the nightlife options.

Xania Woodman's The Circuit:

Jack Colton's Vegas Nightlife Guide:

The following links are important ones for you if you go out clubbing, BTW:

Anyway, hope you have a good time...

Do you prefer a room that has a security check, or direct access to the room?

Actually, Luxor is going thru a renovation right now. They have a couple of nice lounges, and LAX is there. Could be worth a look see, imho. All those mentioned are excellent. Mandalay Bay, Venetian, Palms are my faves.

Hard Rock would probably be my second choice for the younger scene. Have a great trip!
