guys can ask if we are 420 friendly without implying that we break laws? In the past it has been very taboo for a gentleman to inquire about sharing a smoke. Now that it is legal is this no longer going to be the case?

One example is anything governed by the gaming commission. I recently applied for a job with one of the casino corporations and they were very clear that even if you had a prescription for medical marijuana you could not use. Additionally if anyone in your family was involved in the medical marijuana business you were not eligible to apply.
I'd be very surprised if they allow smoking marijuana in their hotel rooms even when it's legal.
As far as toking in public, my understanding is that the currently legal states don't actually allow that, in fact you can be fined if you are caught doing so.
Oh! This was the point of my original question. The big reason we are so adamant about not doing or talking about drugs is the extra felony charge if arrested. I was now wondering if that would no longer be a concern.
Under federal law your first and second offense for possession is a misdemeanor. State and local law enforcement enforce state and local laws. If you are on federal government property and blaze up a federal law enforcement official could site you. If you are smoking in your room and it's against hotel policy worst case is they would ask you to leave. They can't call LVMPD because you haven't broken any laws.

He should NOT be giving legal advice, because his statement is inaccurate in regard to a prostitute who is arrested and found to have drugs. It IS a felony offense!
Please, ladies, consult your attorney regarding the new weed law in Las Vegas, and tell him you are a prostitute! Do not rely on anyone's advice who posts on a discussion forum.
