The Hilton Super Book was a huge change in the type of facility casinos had for sports betting.
I spent more than a few hours there in another era. The Hilton was the first Las Vegas Hotel I ever stayed in. That was in 87 (now dont start on me about age..lol)
Didnt know it has gone down hill. I was in it 3-4 years ago..It was okay..nothing special. The fact the facility isnt a Hilton anymore is another message for us Las Vegas is just different from what it was just a few years ago.
They had the nicest suites in town back in the late 90's... Then Hilton sold it to Park Place and it all went downhill from there. Started serving cheap coffee and using cheap toilet paper and I was out of there...
I've got some great memories in that place... Some of the cocktail waitresses used to party with Elvis and numerous other celebs from back in the day and had some great stories...
The name change is probably more about the new owners not being able to pay the Hilton fee since it's not cheap..
Nothing like it was in the '80s, when that joint was jumpin', and their restaurants were outstanding. They tightened all their games, sweated profusely at their 21 tables, reataurants went bad, it just became a total shithole. Elvis would turn over if he saw the joint now.
When I was in town for trade shows at the convention center. The place was always crawling with CGs especially in the back of the casino by the bar. Then Steve Wynn starting building on the Strip and the rest is history.
