Now won't that be a fun week to be working in Las Vegas? Not! They say Sept/Oct but date is not set yet. Let's see how the local LE runs with this on the premise that they need to clean up the town.
They pick Las Vegas? Sin City? Seriously?
Just google lasvegassun or LVRJ No need to post a link and draw any more attention to TER.
What is the difference between Las Vegas and Dallas, or LA or other major metropolitan city?
The difference is that Vegas can handle conventions as big as they come. And, they do not come much bigger than CES and AVN, simultaneously in fact.
It is easy to forget that Las Vegas is also a regular city beyond the glitter and lights of the strip and downtown. We actually have schools here (lots of them in fact 3rd largest school district in the country), we have regular parks, grocery stores, church's and everything else big cities have. This would also include a university, community colleges, and many technical schools. So what's not to like and what's to prevent a large convention like that from coming to town?
It irks me that when ever something like this occurs that suddenly Vegas is only a stripper, hooker, and drinking venue and what are these people thinking by having their convention here.
After all, it does pay the bills, brings in a ton of revenue and supports Vegas like other conventions do. Oh, sure there will be some gals making money just like other conventions. So? Nothing changes in that respect.
Now, if you want to talk politics that on anther board. You can complain about republicans all you want there. Gee, I wonder, would if be different if it was a Regional Democratic convention? lol
as politics of any sort will bring in unwanted attention and will give the local LE even more reasons to "Clean up the streets". No matter which side of the aisle comes it is bad for our line of work but yes very good for our economy. I do not wish to make this a political debate but rather voiced an opinion about the negativity it will bring towards the working ladies and last I checked this was a board about the hobby right? Interesting that you felt strong enough to voice your opinion but not so much so that you were willing to put your board handle behind it. Guess that speaks volumes doesn't it.
The use of an alias for specific reasons is certainly not one of them. Get over it, just like everyone else has to get over it. The use of aliases will continue long after you retire from the hobby.
As to my counterpoint you missed it completely. Therefore I will just rest my case and not waste further white space.
Please keep such discussions confined to the "Politics and Religion" board. Some of us come here to get away from such debate. This board should be for the lovely ladies of Las Vegas and the men who admire them. Thanks.
My post had nothing to do with politics but rather alerting the fine ladies of LV to be more aware and vigilant is all. I could care less about the politics of it all which is why I posted the alert here and not on the P&R bd. I didn't make it a political discussion someone else did. lol
any political posts will be deleted and the poster possibly moderated, but so far everything seems "on topic". A political convention in Las Vegas is certainly a topic for the LV board.
All I ask is leave any partisan politics out of the discussion, those type of posts will not be tolerated on this or any other regional boards.
