It's what they call a sweep... Either security or Metro Vice checks ID's to see if they have been "86'ed" from the place. It's a way to keep bar girls from "loitering" in one place too long/often. This is common among the strip hotels. I seen it several times.

Was in Vegas over the weekend and noticed that the Flamingo Security was in full force.  Hassling the Service Providers anyone sitting at the bar by themselves was watched very closely and asked to leave.  What gives?

Maybe some housewives turned in complaines.
