Let me clarify just a bit. And, this is not so that we can be totally and accurately politically correct, but "amnesty" as used here, connotes that someone was guilty of something, and therefore was granted a general pardon as such from those offenses.
"Reinstated" however, is a word which by definition claims that a person is brought back into, Webster: "1. to bring back into use or existence. 2. To restore to a previous condition or position. There is a significant distinction between the two.
Regarding the link, I have no bones either way. I have no dog in this fight. But, I would suggest that if amends have not been made with the parties, that the old rules will apply and that this thread may suddenly disappear before our very eyes.
