Vdara rooms have a sink, fridge and a coffee machine which are useful but the place offers nothing else.
The Aria has plenty of buzz and life and is connected to Monte Carlo and the tram station too The Bellagio - About 1 min. from the casino floor.
A seemingly endless stream of beautiful looking women walking through the casino – real eye candy stuff. Probably why they have two boxes of tissues in the rooms! - Anyway.......
The rooms are great if a bit over designed. Lighting, air con and curtains all controlled from a panel beside the bed or the TV remote. Beware of the switch which sais “Goodnight”. It turns off the TV, lights and draws the curtains. I had the settings perfect before my”date”, pushed the switch and ended up on all fours heading for the light under the door to find the main switch!
If you end up in room 11 268, I apologise for the stains on the sheets! (it's the bed furthest away).
It is primarily a residential tower but is a short walk to Bellagio or Aria for some action. Aria has the casino, multiple bars and restaurants, a typical Vegas casino/hotel. Not sure what the rooms are like.
And certainly has a lot more action/activities. Vdara in the Summer will tend to attract more families due to the fact they have no gambling there. Just something to keep in mind.
Vdara was built as a condo/hotel Aria is a gaming hotel.
What is the difference ? Think like the difference between The MGM Grand Hotel and The Signature@MGM Grand.( which is a hotel/condo)
At a condo hotel the owner of the unit gets to decide how to "upkeep" the unit. So sometimes the unit can become rundown from lack of "upkeep". With that said check out below link about hotel house keeping. http://abcnews.go.com/m/screen?id=10619191
On the bright side don't worry it isn't about Las Vegas hotels. Either way my vote goes to Aria. xoxo CindySpice

Darn...I booked on Saturday at Vdara. I was close to picking Aria, but I thought the suites sounded like a nice idea. Oh well, meeting with some of the ladies during my stay ought to cheer me up!
Aria has the casino and much bigger than Vdara.Aria rooms IMO are better than Vdara bigger some have a balcony I don't know if Vdara has this.Vdara seems more for the people that don't gamble but want to be in a new upscale hotel on the strip.
