Your not a dummy .  You just missed the memo I sent out about references . ;-) ;-)

Maybe the bookers were on call waiting .......or maybe ......well doesn't really matter.

but how can you check with the provider if she is on vacation ??

Since I never used a booker ,I wonder, who and how things are kept "track of" ???
Does the booker keep track of who the provider has seen ?
or does the provider herself do that ?
I am assuming each booker may work in different ways.

I knew a provider who had a booker. Her booker kept track of things ....... but that didn't end
very well and it wasn't the best idea for that booker to have such info.........
but that is just one . things may be different for others.

Hey although I know many things , I never said I know everything.

So I just had an interesting booking experience. I forgot a very simple and common sense thing to do when providing references to a booker for screening purpose. Check with the previous provider / booker before you do.

I called a new provider and got her booker. Provided all the relevant information. She calls back saying that the other booker, which she communicates with regularly with, doesn't recall my visits to two of her providers. She says to call that booker and clear things up.

So I call the other booker. First, I check if a particular provider is working. She is unfortunately on vacation . Anyways, I ask her if I could use her as a reference for another provider. She says ok. Immediately after I finish talking to her, I get a call from the other booker saying I'm ok to see the provider I originally called about. It's like they were in the same room.

Lesson learned... common sense... check with providers before you use them as a reference.
