There are far too many established interests that oppose this. A lot of people want prostitution to stay illegal outside the Nevada cathouses, a lot want it to be illegal and eliminated, and a lot also want there to be a lot of illegal prostitution- it gives them significant power in making sure women aren't fully empowered in this environment.

I'd also say that legalizing prostitution in Vegas Nevada brothel style would be a DISASTER, complete with "pussy prisons" and ridiculously inflated prices (where the lady is handing over half the money BEFORE paying taxes, rooms, etc.- though I suppose in some cases, that would be an improvement over the typical pimp). If anything, decriminalization as is done in Canada and Europe might be OK, but then we run into the forces that absolutely do not want freedom in this market again.

So yeah. I expect Vegas to freeze over in the middle of July well before prostitution becomes legal there. Besides, a well-known lady said to me once if she had to compete against EVERYONE who'd want to get into this once it became legal, she'd retire. Who am I to argue with her expertise in this?

I would even consider going back to the brothel if it were in Las Vegas. Nowadays, no one wants to travel all the way to Pahrump. I have driven the highway to Reno and all of the small brothels are closed down except for the one outside of Hawthorne. Brothes are dead businesses unless they are near a big city.
