I not only play but am the proud owner of a 71 Les Paul. I Love playing. But too your question. I see a lot of people up at Guitar Center by Frys Electronics where I get my strings. I think they offer lessons if not Im sure they can direct you in the right way Squirting Fun Tori Blake
bought them as investments which have paid off - electric, acoustic - doesn't matter as long as they were made in the USA - feel foolish I'm a lousy player - when folks see the guitars, they assume I play. I also collect footballs but don't play either. Would rather have a teacher come to me. I'm not the schlep to Guitar Center kind of guy. My vision is to get six months of lessons and then get a group of six or so to play once a week.....Ed Roman made a lot of money off me back in the day.
Vegas may be one of the better places for guitar lessons. Many of those guys that play pop songs in the Casino lounges are very accomplished guitatists and teach on the side. I think you can find those instuctors on Yelp or maybe even craiglist. Shoot, if you see a guy you like playing in a casino lounge, you might even just approach him and ask if he teaches. Many of them do.
I used to take lessons from the Atomic Punks guitarist Lance Turner. Of course I am big into VH, but he teaches all kind of styles. He's a great guy and really knows his stuff. You will have to catch him when he is in town or go to LA. I took a couple lessons backstage at his shows here. So I got the bonus of hangin backstage and seeing all the topless chicks. SWEET!
I know the punks are coming here this friday and saturday night. I think at the Cannery. If you want contact info mail me.
