there are some bad signs, but also some mixed signals.  At least one of her girls friends appointments also reported seeing some prominent ladies, one of whom I know quite well.  With a little gumshoe work a person who is interested could get some reliable backchannel info on this.  But I wouldn't advise any action without some good research.
