My goodness, it IS quiet on the board, isn't it?

Although I have lived here for over 5 years, I have yet to find a good chinese/asian restaurant that serves fresh and wholesome dishes. A locals chinese restaurant?

Any really high-end/super expensive Strip locations don't qualify as I've been to them.

Any tips from fellow hobbyists....thank you.

Tips from providers deserve extra attention, like maybe dinner of your choice and......

Any help would really be appreciated!

I'm really serious about the chinese food though....lol!

Go to Kung Fu. It's on the corner of Spring Moutain and Valley View.   Mya Chan introduced me to it
few years back, and Kit and I have gone there since.  It's awesome!

There is another and I cannot remember the name of it, but if you go west on Spring Mountain about 3 blocks before Jones Blvd. on your right there is a little strip mall. The place is clearly mom and pop operation.

Do not look for a romantic ambiance, but the food is authentic and the best I have had, Chinese.

Hmmm....I take this with a grain of salt. Anyone who takes me for sushi and only eats the hot dishes and no sushi at a buffet and then says GOOD sushi... I rest my case. LMFAO

Am I a complete idiot of an American to think sushi is Japanese???  Chinese Sashimi?  Is my brain fried from this election and my canvassing?

Yikes.

Please enlighten.

LMAO.... actually I was just pulling Smarty's chain.
The gist of it was would you go by someone's recommendation of food when he says "good sushi" and doesn't eat any?

Heck, I dunno the answer to your question but we can always go out and have some sushi and chinese food the next time I;m in Vegas. LOL. I haven't had chinese food in Vegas so we can try one of these places.

We can also leave Smarty at home! What do I know, I'm just an asian.

Oh...I'm kind of slow sometimes LOL.

My favorites are Sushi Avenue and Sushi Fever.

As for Chinese...uhhhmmmm...... ????

 sorry

I'm justa grrrrl  ;>

and where he comes from don't they eat dogs and shit? roflmfao.

He still my buddy though. hahahahah

My taste is a more delicate cuisine such as ahi, hamachi, maguro and tako. Dog is not on my menu and especially not "SHIT" EWWWWW

I also enjoy Chinese, Korean and Thai food.

I bet Smarty orders ham bu gah at chinese restaurants. LMAO

I lived here a long time before I found Chinese food I liked.  Growing up in New England, most of the Chinese food here is not the same as what I am used to.  But I found a place that serves "New York Style" Chinese food.  :-)  Its more of a take-out type of place, but the food is great.  Chopstix at Eastern & Windmill in the Smiths shopping plaza.  ;-)

Jasmine on the west side is great & Satay across the st. from kung-fu. Not only Chinese but SE Asian menus.

There is a combination Thai and Chinese establishment, Thai Spice on Flamingo just west of The Palms.  It is pretty good, and affordable.

If you are looking for true chinese food, I recommend Sam Woo BBQ at 4215 Spring Mountain Road. A family run chain of restaurants that are mainly in LA/San Gabriel area. Service may not be the greatest but the food makes up for it. Also, they only take cash.

Try Pearl at the MGM or
Joyful House on Spring Mountain

Thanks for the rec's so far everyone and for the levity among Selena, CrazyAsn and Smarty.

Is chinese that difficult to find in Las Vegas/Henderson? (Tongue planted firmly in my cheek).

Anyone know of a good dim sum restaurant in Vegas?

While on the subject of Chinese food, strange but I just had Vietnamese dinner with a not to be mentioned provider.  Very nice, brought back some memories, and the nuc mam was still HOT!!  Restaurant is about Desert Inn and Buffalo.

My mistake, it is not D I and Buffalo, it is D I and Durango!  I will learn these streets one day.

while I don't have a favorite, there are a handful of places that seem to draw me in:

Diamond on Industrial behind Fashion Show Mall.  It's a odd place, behind a Sonny's Saloon but I tend to hit this place late before the kitchen closes (Sonny's never closes if you need a drink).

I'll add my vote for Joyful House on Spring Mountain between Decatur and Arville.  Probably overpriced but good food.

Way off from Chinatown is a place called Golden Flower on Russell just east of Pecos.  Hole in the wall that I've heard good things.

dim sum:

The two I usually hit are Chang's (Decatur north of Tropicana) and Cathay (Spring Mountain west of Decatur).  7 days, brunch hours.  I have a harder time getting a table at Chang's.  One place closer to the strip to consider would be Ping Pang Pong in Gold Coast.  Never had a chance but I understand it's a bit more expensive.
