So check this out, a friend of mines wife who is not a provider, but is attractive and out-going, had just finished playing slots at a major hotel on the strip and was waiting for her husband to meet her when she was approached by some young guy asking her what she was doing and other small talk, he started being nice, so she said she was looking for a slot machine that pays.  He asked her, her name asked where she was from and if she was married, she was like whats with all the questions.  Then he became very lewd asking if he could fucker in the ass, which she said no to, then he says lets walk over here, she was just walking with him headed back towards the bar where she was to meet her husband when around the corner and another guy comes up and was his friend, the guy she was talking to told him that they were going to his room, she said no, then the friend says, can I come, and gets all lewd with her, again she says no, then she thinks, do they think I am a provider, so she asked are you a cop, he states no I'm not, but when she tries to walk around him he flashes his badge and said come with us.  She was freaking out they charged her with 2 counts of solicitation. Are there no entrapment laws in Nevada?  Is it always your word against the cops even when the cops are wrong? What should she do.  She has never been arrested for anything in her life and is over 50 years old and married??  If anybody have has any useful info could you please pass it along.

Cop's can always say whatever they want!!!!! and in reality YES it is always your word against theirs!

In most cases your voice will likely not be heard by the judge so it is highly advisable that your friend seeks the assistance of council!

The one good thing is if you act quickly enough you can likely subpoena the video surveilance recordings of the casino as evidence. You may have a small window of opportunity for that so I'd act quickly!

First off to say that organized crime is somehow still hawking prostitution in this town is pure folly.

When Tony Spilatro was buried in a corn field in Iowa, that was the end of organized crime in Vegas and prostitution.

As for the other advice that there is no entrapment laws in Nevada there sure is. Sorting out the evidence and the he said she said from what really happened is always a problem. However there is an entrapment law.

Some good advice you received is obtain legal counsel ASAP and make every effort to obtain the casino video tape during that period. Along with the video and any other witness before or after her run in with these vice officers, there is a chance that entrapment can be charged. Slim but there's a chance. If her and her husband can prove otherwise, Metro can be facing a charge of face imprisonment and a major law suit. That's if everything she said is true. I have some real reservations on this whole story but I'll keep that to myself.

I suspect the truth is somewhere between what he said and what she said and we will probably never know here what happen.

Not a lawyer, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

If I were a lawyer I'd never admit to it anyway. rofl

They are cowboys in this town and can do whatever they want on private property.

This happened to a girlfriend of mine who is completely square and never has had anything to do with the business.

She got a lawyer...the charges were dropped, but to this day she is not welcome on the property where it happened or any of their other hotels.  So, in the eyes of the hotel she is guilty!

It's hard being a single woman in this town...I don't like to linger by myself in casinos for this very reason; I don't trust that I won't be singled out someday....it stinks...but, welcome to LV!

Just FYI, Spilatro was never buried in a corn field in Iowa. The rumor was he was buried in a corn field in Indiana with his brother but even that has been confirmed to be untrue. They were actually killed in a lodge in Illinois and later buried on the side of the road thereafter. You watch too many movies. :)

The entrapment laws in Nevada are about as useful as tits on a turtle and your legal council is worth less than that. You know I love ya baby, but stick to what you know.

like trying to get me into an argument over schematics. lmfao

I never made any claim that the entrapment laws of Nevada had any teeth or that they were very useful.

I was just correcting another poster who claimed there *was* no entrapment law here in Nevada, which was flat out misleading.

Now, I too love ya baby, but please read my post again. I did say "Not a lawyer, but I did stay at the Holiday Inn Express last night". I do not actually have a legal council.

What's the old saying "He who represents himself in a court of law, has a fool for a client". lol

It would be hard to be an attractive woman these days. It seems like they are the big targets these days and they need to watch their every move.

I would still think that metro could find something better to do, maybe like busting Paris Hilton or Bruno Mars for coke possesion.

I would never walk through a casino with  or even close to a guy who just approached me and ask questionas and then ask if he could fuck me in the ass. At the very least I would walk in the other direction, if not outright slap the guy. I'm sure she wasn't aware of all the stings that go on in the casino floors but she used bad judgement. Hope everything works out, with a good lawyer she can probably get the case thrown out.
