I've noticed that phenomenon...

it's lame.  Most providers are hot, right?!  And, if these girls really thinks so, what's wrong with a PM to tell the other provider so?  Oh yeah, they are trying to get their name all over the boards with nonsense!
If they spent as much time thinking about a topic that would be interesting to post and discuss as they do saying "pick me" and "hot pic", we may actually have an interesting board again!

First for the formalities, I'm using the alias simply so that it's not in red.  The following is my opinion as a long time user of the board, NOT as it's moderator.  I'm saying that now, so that when I offend you, you can bitch to the appropriate version of me.  Furthermore, the Atlanta board has taken enough of my time lately that I've neglected you folks, and wanted to rejoin the fold.

So, is it just me that notices that the people that respond to every inquiry for a good time are often the ones that I'd never pick if I was doing a search?  I'm hearing that things are slow right now, and that certainly brings up the need for marketing.  I remember when I first got here about 7 years ago, the same ladies would reply to requests for everything from a 20 yr old spinner to a MILF to a dominatrix.  I thought at the time that she can't possibly be all of those things, so I ignored her and she ultimately faded away.  I have to wonder if pasting one's name to every thread actually helps, or if it backfires.  Ladies, feel free to use an alias for obvious reasons.  Guys, do you notice, and how do you read it?

It's too much!  Especially as of late.  The board is bombarded with ladies with nothing to say, but "pick me, pick me".  I think it looks desperate on their parts.  And, it makes me cringe when I see it.  Getting your name on the boards and getting noticed can be done in a helpful and/or interesting way, or it can be done in a pathetic and classless way.  Lately, the latter seems to be common and it's a shame.  This board used to be fun and informative.  Now, it's filled with the "pick me's" who probably don't get picked very often!

No it does not help at all. It is painfully annoying.

It is equally annoying that men who post the iso's are asking questions that are easily resolved via a simple search that will cost them significantly less than seeing a rip off artist.....and some of the ISO stuff does not require VIP here...Google is still world wide right?

As for the guys who post the ISO's, they are generally time wasters. Anyone who is too cheap to buy VIP and/or too lazy to do some research is not going to want to pay for the level of services they are specifically looking for, and they are not going to read the providers rules listed on her site. Why anyone would think a person who cannot adhere to common sense, cannot read for themselves, and is too cheap to cough up money for VIP to protect their own ass, would make a great client is beyond me???

Last I checked this was a "message board" so one would think messages would not be an annoyance.

You know what I find annoying?   The horrible attitude the regular men here have toward, well, basically everything.  I find it rather pathetic to be honest and it keeps me from joining in on conversations.

No alias needed, I'm bit here for your money so I van say it how it is.

even if it wasn't on the LV or TER forums.

From a client's perspective, I believe it gets a provider noticed but not for the right reasons. If done repeatedly, I believe it only serves to diminish a provider's suitability for the request in question.

I've also seen a similar phenomenon when it comes to soliciting resumes for a specific job posting in the real world. The resumes that I've received from applicants run the gamut along the experience spectrum (i.e. some are underqualified and overqualified).

I believe in both instances, providers and job applicants apply for any request and job posting in the hopes that something will ultimately stick.

Our term for this is a probabilistic attack.

I believe the US Army had a similar term during the Vietnam War: carpet bombing.
