How's the Rio?

Coming into town for work, mainly, in June. Thinking about staying at the Rio for part of the time while I'm in town.

How is it? Havent stepped foot in it for 4 years at this point.

Has anyone done these "comp'd" suites they're offering??

Thanks

They have redone the rooms in one tower so it's gotten better. They put in a new food hall also. The last few times I have had a meet there it was always busy.

Last time I met a hooker over there, it was pretty empty, the rooms had a 1980s vibe. I gathered from the girl that it was dirt cheap to grab a room over there during the week.

Wasn't bad, but I wouldn't have stayed there for a staycation or anything.

I parked in the west side parking garage last time I went there and it was a bit sketchy, a couple shady characters gave me pause. I likely won’t self park there again.

I wouldn’t stay there but it depends on your tastes. NYNY has redone rooms for similar price. Better gambling and more things around it.

I was there in December (and will be again in 2 weeks).  Remodeled rooms in the Ipanema Tower are nice.  Nice gaming floor.  The Food Court has fairly good options and is cashless- you order and pay electronically.  The Masquerade side is very empty and feels abandoned.  Has a burger joint and pretzel shop near the parking garage, and that’s about it on that side as of my last visit.
It is getting better.

And the prices are super cheap...

If you are worried about parking then valet

I like to be at the center of the action on the strip. Love casino hoping at 3 or 4am. The people you run into at those hours...
I just hate being stuck in the same hotel all night.
But that's me, I'm an enigma

I stayed there about a year ago and I splurged for a massive suite (2-storeys). It was old, unkept, there was dust and it didn't feel premium. I could've paid for a smaller room at the Aria and had an actually luxury experience.

We called for an extra pillow and blankets and they said they had none. lol. it's a hotel! what do you mean you have none?

The only good thing at that place is Penn and Teller. Everything else is gross.
