When you have the conversation about going away the subject will come up and answer itself.  We all know the heightened security in travel, and when you mention going away she will likely provide the answer you seek by either saying here is my name for the booking or can you reimburse me.  By asking the question does she WANT to go away you will your answer.

I have been seeing the same lady for more than 4 years.  It's a good relationship. Each of us seems to be at the stage where we are letting our guard down a bit.  You know, not major things like financial stuff, just personal things like number of kids, likes/dislikes, how many dogs etc.

I am thinking about taking her with me on an upcoming trip to your fair city. My question to the board is should I ask her to tell me her real name prior to taking her with me? How insistent should I be or should I just let it be. I am thinking if something should happen, I may need to know that information.  (Medical emergencies, auto accident, ??)

By the way, I have never asked for her real name.  Not an issue in the current situation.

Thanks

if you have been seeing here for about 4 years, i wouldn't see a problem.
clients that i have seen over the years i gain "trust" with (if you can call it that) and have told them my real name.

but at the end of the day it is all about boundaries & how much she feels she trusts you.
at the same time if she gives you her info, you should be prepared for her to want the same (if she doesn't already know your info)

hope all works out!

By combining the two lovely ladies comments as well as Herbtcats into one very well rounded informative answer to the questions you ask.

I myself have enjoyed a full friendships with a gentleman for many years and they have never know my true name as well as shared it with someone the first evening.

Enjoy your stay in Vegas with your special lady

In another situation I invited a gal to meet me at a resort in Mexico. It was all inclusive so we could eat, drink and then go play. All I had to do is buy her a day pass so I thought no problem. The problem was that the front desk needed her name and she had to leave her identification at the front desk. It was embarrassing to only give the front desk her "nickname"... The front desk lady gave me the "stink eye"... lol... She ended up leaving her identification and real name at the front desk...

I've thought about taking someone via plane with me and wondered how to ask their name.

4 years is a long time.
Are you flying or driving?

If you're flying, it's a no brainer.....  Real ID.

Just mention it casually, and feel her out with a few questions.

If she wants to go and really trusts you, it should work out.

Also, you know you're bringing sand to the beach right???? Lol

(Unless you're planning some 3-way action)

Good luck!

Maybe have her book her own room (same hotel) and travel - then you just reimburse her.
