...I don't post my link when commenting on another provider's ad thread.  Isn't that a no no?

I am quoting directly from the AD POST GUIDELINES

"By participating in the discussions on TER discussion boards, you can greatly increase your visibility and give potential clients the opportunity to get to know you better. You may include your link in messages you contribute to any TER discussion board, and that does not count toward your ad limit. In fact, you are encouraged to include your link, because it helps everyone get to know you better. Just please make those linked messages meaningful, entertaining or helpful contributions."

ALL providers may post a link with EVERY message they post.  The link MUST however be a valid link as defined in the ad guidelines.

you can feel comfortable I think with what was in the previous paragraph in the rules...'You may include your link in messages you contribute to any TER discussion board, and that does not count toward your ad limit.'

I take any discussion board to include any providers post as well as long as your actual post text is on topic and contributes to the discussion.

Let me get back behind the yellow tape though. lol

The fourth paragraph of "message posting guidelines"  says,

"Posting mean and rude comments ,or links to other providers' reviews/site under a provider's AD is prohibited"

I can't think of a comment from one provider to another on her AD thread that meets - "Just please make those linked messages meaningful, entertaining or helpful contributions."

There's an etiquette issue involved.  It's more often looked to as disrespectful and somewhat cut throat amongst providers themselves.  I just posted an ad thread yesterday and a few providers commented on that thread without listing their sites.

That you may post your link if you are offering to do doubles or something of that nature.  If you are jumping in and saying nothing at all of import and it appears to me that you are just trying to drive up your own business, then I will remove those posts, and let you know that I did, and why.

So, bottom line, as long as the posts are meaningful and not intended to turn business away, or attack that provider in her own ad thread, then I will allow you to post your own link.

I used to include my link on just about every post response, but always made sure my comments were on topic and hopefully complimentary to the provider if I did, but I got stomped on for it and told that it's called hijacking another providers thread. I was surprised because I was just trying to be friendly, and offer to do doubles, if anyone wanted to, but again, I was scolded for it, so I stopped.

I think I was branded for it, a lot of providers don't like me because of it. But now I find out there was nothing wrong with it, and I was keeping the rules at the time.... so some ladies started hating on me for nothing eh?

Thank you sweetie, I'm still not going to post to another providers thread unless we are friends and it's already agreed to do doubles, because I don't want someone thinking I am trying to do anything but be a friend and have some fun with them.

And here is my link! TAH DAHHHH lol

AND most providers have enough confidence and respect for themselves and the community and therefore this has never before been an issue.

...it's always enlightening & pithy to have an unbiased opinion from someone of another board with your obvious intellectual aptitude with no personal agenda.  Thanks again sweetie ;-) ;-) ;-)
