Las Vegas

Hey Vegas, I need confirmation on something I just heard about the hobby in Vegas.

On an upcoming business trip one of my colleagues tried to get me to stay at the Las Vegas Hilton(I'm a Marriott guy). He told me that the Hilton is one of the few hotels who looks the other way when it comes to providers hanging out in the lobby and near the elevators. Specifically, he said I should expect to get propositioned for a date multiple times during my one week stay.

Now I've stayed in Vegas over a hundred times but never at the Las Vegas Hilton. I thought it was a big no-no with the major Hotels for ladies to work the crowd. I remember it had something to do with the fact that Hotels felt it potentially took the guy's attention off of gaming.

Any insights that you all might share would be much appreciated.

big no-no....there are bar girls around but stick to the sure thing and do your research.

While I doubt that ladies will be standing by the elevator or in the lobby, propositioning you all the time, you may be given some "attention" at the bar. I have never been in the Hilton, so I don't know how their security works. In my opinion, you can do no better than to research the ladies here, otherwise, your playing with fire.

Have fun and play safe!

I know a few girls that "freelance" and they will charge you a laughable amount of money for what they "provide" and most of them have pimps that are always very close behind so beeeee careful! XoX Adrianna

Whereas when I travel I usually hobby, on this outing I will be with my coworkers most of the time. That means I'll have little warning regarding when I'll be alone. One one hand, a reviewed provider is safer and surer but it also requires planning ahead and screening. This all takes time which I don't have this time around.

So if I would want to hobby this time around it would have to be a chance encounter at the bar. I haven't done that in years so I am a little rusty. However, TER wasn't around back then so it would be interesting to see the reaction on lady's face if I am propositioned and I ask her "do you have any reviews?". In fact, I think that might kind of fun. If she says yes, I pop out my Treo and ask her where I can find them. ;)

The yellow pages has 125 pages of entertainers direct to your room in 20 minutes. A chick will show up. This is Las Vegas after all.

Yeah the chick will show up and scam you !!!

Yellow pages = Agecny .......HELLO !!!!
Where is smarty when you need him ???

Come on, there is nothing in the board rules prohibiting giving bad advice.

I said Smarty because I need his sign "say no to agency ho's" ............ or something like that.

now don't get fresh Imallin some folks reading these boards are cluless, you wouldn't want to give our Vegas board a bad name , would you? ;-)

Having been the victim of the 'yellow page scam', I'd warn you as far away as possible. Also, stay away from agencies, if not outright rip-offs, then expensive upsells for little or no service.

asking a "freelancer" if she has reviews ??

Dear if she had reviews and they were good ones she wouldn't be trolling the bars.;-)

Usually it is Pimp girls who are trolling the Casinos/Bars. This is their motto- "I try to make as much as possible, while doing as less as possible"
Cause bottom line they have to bring home their "quota"

The Casinos do not like these ladies taking money away from the tables but there are times they are allowed and there are times security gets tight.
Why ?? well that is a whole other post.

So it could happen while your friend was at LVH freelancers were hanging by the elevators. and the next day or day/week/months after they are not hanging out.

Still don't know why you would want to risk getting ripped off or getting poor service for a high fee.

I suggest you get pre screened and when your ready contact the well reviewed independent that has pre screened you   ............... ok there is a risk maybe she won't be available last minute , but it is better then the risk of getting ripped off ........ or worst.

I am sure there is a night around midnight you can excuse yourself from people that you are around saying you are tired/Have to call wife ..........or insert other excuse here

so the way I see it if you really want to plan things ahead you could ;-)

Good luck
xoxo CindySpice

Why don't u just book Cindy?  I heard somewhere that she is a sure thing.

Bond

The possibility of reviews is slim, with a much better chance of having to haggle prices and service and having both suffer.

Oh, and you're picking the most expensive city in the US to do this trick with.

My take? If you can't book a session (last-minute or otherwise) with a TER-reviewed indie, skip it- unless you're really willing to chance a poor experience.

that would be the slots between the main casino and the elevators ..... pickings have been slim ... good luck ....

oh shucks ! Another complaint to security how some dude got ripped off by a freelancer .......now security tight again.;-(

Well I told him to stick to a well reviewed independent..............will they ever learn ??

better left horny then ripped off.

Metro does have women working on the vice squad.  Yes, gentlemen, it is possible to be arrested for solicition.  Not only women get arrested for that.  You might be lucky if all you get is ripped off.  I have to agree with Cindy...schedule a migrane, tiredness, illness etc.  There are ways to break away from the crowd for an hour or two.  Just have to go to bed early one night.

While I hate to mention the CL word on this board it might be an option for you.  Craigslist is not thought well of here or in the Chicago area where I am from with good reason.  However, there are a handful of providers posting on CL that are reviewed either here or on other venues.  Do your research and find those providers with reviews, save their numbers and give one a call when you see your schedule is free.  Good luck!

Since I posted this innocent request I couldn't help notice the number of ladies who chimed in with chicken-little posts of all the horrid things that await the hobbyist who dare stray from the path of the "reviewed" provider.

I chuckle because it was not that long ago that the hobby(before it was called that) in Nevada, looked down its nose at the independent lady who worked outside the legal system at legal Nevada brothels. I remember when stories of STD  and "LE stings" and all sorts of mean and nasty thing would befall hobbyists who dared patronize a lady who did not work at one of the ranch's. Thanks to TER and Eros we sit here a few years later with an established community and now these ladies and some hobbyists look down "their" noses at anyone who would dare NOT follow the "new way". My how times have changed.

Well for those folks I've got some earth shattering news. I certainly hope this will not cause the magnetic poles to switch or lead to rivers running with blood or heaven forbid, bring locusts upon the earth. But you know what? I've actually found some real gems on the likes of Craig's list and for that matter the newer upstart backpage.com. Yes, I always consult TER but that does not mean that now and again I won't stick my weany out there to test the waters of the ..... drum roll please.... “unreviewed provider.” Oh Shit! Did he actually say that? You’re going to burn in hell now dude. LOL

My sole point on this post is that there were a number of ladies who chimed in about all sorts of bad things that would happen to someone who strayed from the path. All I asked for was some solid local 411 on a very specific question. If anyone had taken the time to review my profile they would have seen that I am not a newbie. I know my way around the hobby. So no Chicken Little, the sky is not falling. And no, I'm not afraid of someone stealing a kidney. All I really wanted to know was, is it true that there is an indy trade working the bar at the Hilton? Not a terribly hard question. Yet only two people answered it. Everyone else chimed in with useless opinions and conjecture.

On the subject of opinions. I like what Clint Eastwood said in the Dirty Harry movies of the 70s', "Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one and they all stink". What I was looking for were facts. To those two guys who offered that up. Thanks, if I ever see you out there, I owe you a beer.

So to all the ladies who posted here with "The sky is falling cautions", thank you for your concern but I'm a big boy and I do look both ways before crossing the street. And as this post started off, it wasn't too long ago where you ladies were at the bottom of the food chain looking up at the ladies who worked on the legal side of this business. So remember “judge ye not lest ye be judged yourself.”

I worked on the legal side before I went independent on the net.

and once I went independent,no one ever looked down on me or patronized me.

Before the days of the net, agency and freelancers were mostly looked down on because for the most part they were rip offs and pimp girls there was just no way to let people know ..................now there is.

It isn't about "they don't follow the new way"
They can't ,because they would get tons of bad reviews and be out of business.

Yeah so you have 27 reviews .....but the fact that you came around asking some 411 questions and what is going on in a hotel means you DO NOT know.......... well ok then sorry for trying to help out a fellow ter from another state.

You don't have to be a newbie to get ripped off.Even seasoned guys got burnt because they were thinking with the little head.

No one is judging anyone we are just telling it like it is.Sorry that the truth hurts !

No the "sky isn't falling" but you don't know how many times guys get ripped off and don't say anything here because they are embarrassed to admit it. but I hear plenty of stories in private.

So big boy I wish you all the best and hope you do find what your looking for. Either way I wouldn't want anyone to get a bad taste in Vegas.

There is action at the Hilton. The Space Quest had some girls late. Not too agressive. Typical rates for LV casino girls. Walking around there was the usual gals trying to make eye contact. No different than other places if you keep your eyes open. There were no packs by the elevators waiting to ride.

Regarding your post...

I'm not sure people are going to go through the trouble to "take the time to review your profile" when trying to repsond to a pretty basic post.

I fairness to others, you really didn't ask a "question" you posted:  "Any insights that you all might share would be much appreciated."

Reading your original post your "been to Vegas over a hundred times" and "I though it was a big no-no with the major Hotels for ladies to work the crowds". While I haven't been to Vegas that many times those two statments seem to fight each other. If you've been here that many times you should know what the "ladies" do or don't do at the big hotels.

If all you wanted to know was what the action was at the bar at the Hilton then why didn't you just ask like previous posters. There has been a long string of requests about casino girls. But your question was phrased like a newbie. ("propositioned for a date", )

Normally I would let this go but anytime someone brings out the Clint Eastwood quote I have to respond. Because usually when they do it it is at the end of a long paragraph full of their own -- wait for it -- opinions.

(By the way Dirty Harry only said the first part not the "they all stink")

Useless opinions and conjecture? Here? Happy to oblige.

I think the reason you got a lot of chippy comments from the provider community comes down to basic economics... and the fact that they're still women.

The online community is a sellers' market. The established girls here offer the closest thing to a "quality" or "guaranteed" product you're going to get, in the farthest thing from a quality and guaranteed business. They set the prices. There's no haggling. There's no shortage of other customers to spend their time on and pay their price if you don't want to play by their rules. It's even not unheard of to pay a premium (tip) over and above the established price for great service. Textbook sellers' market.

Bar girls, casino-floaters, agency hos, the college girl really just looking for a little book money... whatever you want to call them, on the other hand, are chaos. You have no idea what the product is really going to be in the end, so the price is negotiable. (Upsell, anyone? Cash and dash? Where's the box on the review form for the forty-yard dash time to the elevator in heels?)

Haggling is best done in thirld-world market stalls over live chickens and plastic tourist crap. Look at the tourists' faces on the streets. The rest of the planet with any money comes here to play because their place sucks.

You might end up buying a great time with the diamond in the rough. Congratulations. Really. You might end up buying a shiny piece of metal that says "Clark County Sherrif's Deputy." Good luck. Really.

Bleeding out in the bathtub full of ice may be an urban legend particular to Las Vegas, but I haven't read a lot of reviews of established providers lately that said: "Prompt. Dressed appropriately. We snuggled and made our way up to the suite. Bitch stole my kidney."

That's the twisted real-world definition of a buyer's market. They may 'splain it a little different at Harvard or Stanford... dunno...i went to Kansas.... our mascot is an imaginary bird.

That's not to say that the "legitimate" way is fool-proof. I just got back from a quick 36-hour business trip where I tried to squeeze in as much fun as I could, with the fun arranged in advance. I had a great time with two of the legends that are consistently lauded here. (Nikki- seriously, I got lost on the whole energy-thing. There must have been something else going on in that room that distracted me. My energy was not coming out of the top of my head that night. Or my feet. I'll need another lesson.) (And I still never got my laptop to work right with the wi-fi in the room. I don't know how to explain to the guy at Best Buy that this amazing blonde sat on my lap while she changed all my Vista settings.)
I also got no-showed by another well-reviewed and regular, but sleepy, member of the community on a confirmed appointment. Nothing hatefull on my part there, just disappointed with only a couple of wasted hours and lame messages to show for it. 2 out of 3 'aint bad odds, I guess.

I'm sure you know all this since you're very experienced and all, but it's awfully simplistic to take the providers to task for casting aspersions on you. This is how they make their living... we just come to play.
(And remember your audience for that biblical quote at the end... that gideon that put the bible in the nightstand wasn't getting laid while he spread the good news, and that CSI show never shows the detectives dusting for fingerprints on that bible in vegas because there abso-fucking-lutely 'aint any!)

There definitely is a pecking order. The providers have set it up with themselves at the top and the "bar girls" at the bottom. Providers  taking you to task is just a proxy for the catfight they can't have downstairs... but they don't hang out downstairs... the nice rooms are at the top, and sometimes you do have to look down your nose to enjoy the view from up there.

Most providers worth a damm are all amateur psychologists, and usually pretty good ones who can read a guy fairly quick. They need to be. Trying to hook up in a casino bar or lobby is just kind of reckless these days when there are good alternatives, and professionals can smell that streak on a guy like a highway-patrol dog can smell weed.

Maybe it's a psychological thing with some guys who need to feel like they've picked up or hooked up with "the nice girl with a real job who just does this once in a while to make ends meet 'cause the money is so good in Las Vegas," and that need, or kink, or rush, or whatever, isn't fulfilled by asking a professional for an appointment.

Dunno... I like the brave new world and the pro girls a lot better... as long as they remember to set their alarm clocks. :-)

You'll get no warnings from me. I'll even go so far as to recommend that you sample the bar girl action. Enjoy!

Of the ten posts discouraging you from "testing the waters of the unreviewed provider", only three were from providers. Why did they bear the brunt of your "chicken little" diatribe?
