I have no idea what the situation is at the Chicken Ranch, but I'll agree that the prices the ladies first quote at Sheri's are extremely high.  The facilites are very nice.  But when I was doing my research before going, I noticed one important relationship between the atmosphere and prices.  When things are busy and bustling in the bar, and there are lots of guys there playing pool and chatting with the girls, prices are high.  The old supply and demand concept at play I presume.  So one trick to get a decent deal is to go at a time when the place is dead, but then you give up a lot of the fun of being in a nice bar.  Catch 22

Heid Fleiss is indeed very likely to be a part of a venture by a Aussie company that owns brothels down under. They are planning on making a real mark , most likel in Pahrump, either buying an exisiting one ( almost has to be the CR) and making it a place that will outshow Sheri's.  I know a lot about Sheri's as I used to do work at Sheri's until I  got I sort of got aced out certain people whom I  used to trust.
