Quite often you can get lucky with early check in.  If unavailable they will often hold your bags which leaves you hands free for anything.   Breakfast, a walk down the strip or the Linq etc.

Take in some of the vegas sights if this is your first time in vegas walk around the strip,have a nice lunch,do a little shopping maybe?
