Ongoing conversations would be kept alive instead of dying whenever they drop to page 2.
However, if the ads are not bumped they are going fall off to page two fast. Perhaps we should increase the number of threads per page to 50 or more.
I know that the feedback has been largely negative, so lets not deal with that right now. Specifically, do you prefer the old method of chronological posting, or the new system where new postings bring stuff to the top?
the old way of chronological posting.
I actually like the new site bc it is more compatible with the different browsers I have to use when I am at work. I hate Internet Explorer and AOHELL!
I did spend a lot of time on the new site b4 it was launched. So surfing it has not caused me to push panic.

also, bring back the "view all" icon/feature to the new format .
But, I can deal with the new way....
Bumping threads gives advantage to certain posts while others drop to the bottom. Doesn't seem fair to me.

Besides the look and location of the buttons, none of the search features has changed. Actually not too many of the old features has changed....everything just looks different and may be in different locations. There are only additions to the functionality of the site, nothing has really changed. There are some things that need their full enhancements recoded, but overall the site still has the same functions.
As for the bumping......I was aware the ads did not bump, but the whole bumping of any thread is aggravating. HOWEVER FOR ME....that is not a deal breaker.
I think because there was not a real Q and A done with a randomly selected end user test group, and a real phasing out of the old format. Complete with a full block of play by play instructions...and a queue dedicated to feedback from the test group. Whomever took the position of the PM on this particular project did not do their homework as to the ease of use of the new site based on the stats of the active users of the site. That was either the PM did not budget correctly or did not care....in either case this has turned out to be an egregious error in professional IT judgement.
At the end of the day the boards are dead, people are very confused, and that is not good for anyone. Except for the sites who are seeking to get a part of TER's strong hold on certain parts of the world.
the old way because now it hard to tell what are the new posts.
old method, many times it's not the poster that peeks my interest in a response ...
but, someone down the chain. this new system doesn't allow that.
This new method will really make it easy for assholes to have fun. I wonder if a moderated person's post has to be approved before it bumps the thread to the top.
Considering the rules limiting ad postings, the bump feature is a huge disadvantage.
I am all for changing things if changes bring improvement. But I find it very difficult and irratating when trying to read the board. I keep re-reading, or at least clicking on, something I read yesterday or the day before because someone has made a comment and pushed it to the top.
Also, it needs to have the View All option. I often just like to see the response specific individuals have to postings, and like to scan them all without having to click on them!
Until it goes away, I'm sticking with the old version.
Was too much dissonance in seeing how threads develop now.
New site design is awful. I've cancelled my membership! Will rejoin if they restore the old site.
if one cancels their membership, it wouldn't take effect until after their paid membership period had expired.
On the home page, on the left side there is a link to the "classic" version. Although it states "for a limited time only". Hopefully with the considerable negative comments about the new version, admin will re-consider.
There are a couple features I like about the new format, but overall, I'm "old school"!
I can't find anything in the new system. Maybe I'll get used to it, but right now I find the new system to be so much more work to keep track of things.
I hate it. Leave the new color's and bring back the old format.
This new one SUCK's BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!
It's hard to navigate at first since its new and unfamiliar background . OLD habit or routine is always so much easier . Every new maps difficult to learn at first .
The thing about new site with Provider ADS on the left of the screen is perfect for LUKERS . gents who looking for ads , not getting into the dramatic attention. If ones wants the discussion , then they hit on the FOLDERS. PERFECT .
TER Messenger is cool. haven't tried yet . but sound LIVELY .
ONE DISAPPOINTED , my this week ads been written and posted after Amanda Brook post , and this "QUESTION ABOUT THE NEW SITE " post , but for some UNKNOWN reasons , Vegas MOD places my ads post below his post and other older posts . when a post is newer , isn't it supposed to be on the top of other older posts ![]()
sorry Mod Phil , I think I didn't see how the posts system works up and down till now
it's so weird , have to get back here more often to get used to this change .
Much easier when you've read a post and want to go back and see what responses have been made to it.
Also better to catch up with old posts after being away for a few days and not reading the boards.
In order not to miss new posts, I have to keep scrolling etc to see them all...because this new system brings older ads etc back to the top....not a fan of this at all.
I just find out that info , what makes older posts go to the top ? ...i am lazy , i guess i figure out later ...sleepy :P
I like that you can see more topics at a glance, and then the tree view when you open it. That allows for easier browsing of the subjects, and I know for sure which one's are ads and which one's are discussions.
I am a fan of progress, and this site does seem to run smoother with the new software. I also think chat functions much better. It will be nice when they have time to tweak that more, but I am a patient sort he he he.
Great job guys! I am sure it will be in tip top shape in no time.
I prefer the old format, although the new does have some nice features.
There are good and bad ways too see the changes in the site....I find there are fewer posts on the boards now....why is that????
Threads need to die off of page one to make room for new, fresh ideas and posts. Discussions need not be neverending. They should stop and begin anew from a fresh perspective at a different time.
Chronological order for the thinking man.
'Relax....it's just Sex!'
I prefer the good old fashion way.
Even though I don't have a problem adopting to new things ,
old way wasn't broken, why did they try to fix it ???
Seems like most are not happy with current look or style......
So I don't get why did they do this to begin with ?
I'm just saying why bother and risk losing paying customers and make people maybe post less or use site less.
shouldn't the goal be for more ![]()
and really ads should not be bummed up.
It is annoying to come here to participate in a discussion, only to see ad after ad and again the same ad that was posted days ago.
new site sucks
I prefer old way,the bumping is dumb...xo Jenny Syn
