I have been staying at the Palazzo for years now and call it my home away from home. The rooms are spacious, I always ask for the same great view and enjoy some excellent restaurants and entertainment within its walls.
However, for my January trip I waited too late and found Palazzo to be completely sold out due to the CES/AVN crowds.
I made my reservation at TheHotel instead.
One difference that I did notice between the two hotels was the quiet, relaxed comfort that you feel immediately upon entering TheHotel's main lobby area. No crowds and none of the gaming noise associated with the major casino hotels.
It was also a pleasure meeting with five of Vegas' most beautiful women that week and never once bumping into hotel security. There is none. The elevators don't require a key nor are they guarded by security .... ever.
Would I stay there again ??? I have already booked another 10 days at TheHotel in April.
Thanks for your suggestions. It will be the Hotel. Maybe palazzo for the next visit. I hope its warm this weekend. It's 17 degrees here today. It was -4 on Sunday.
Both the Palazzo and THE hotel are really great, I personally prefer THE hotel for some of the reasons others have mentioned.....it is much quieter, more cosmopolitan, easy entrance, and no security.
However, it IS much further down on the strip.....what sort of activities do you plan on engaging in while you're visiting our lovely city? Do you want to be closer to the action of the strip? The Palazzo is right next to the Wynn, across from Treasure Island, and right in the heart of the Blvd. Are you walking or cabbing it everywhere?
A one bedroom suite (THE hotel) is handy for entertaining company because there is a second bedroom. Not to mention they have exceptionally large bathrooms....
The one room suite (Palazzo) feels much larger because there aren't any walls to interfere with the line of visuals.
I have to admit the views from the Palazzo are priceless.
The Hotel because of the discretion factor and is so much more low key. I love the Palazzo as well if I am doing a longer date such as a dinner and a show, overnight or weekend but for shorter engagements The Hotel would be the best choice.
Was a long time loyal customer of Venetian / Palazzo. Loved their rooms, but they screwed me on comps once and I moved to The Hotel. Never looked back, love the the modern style and service is great.
Romeogolf makes a great point abnout the ambience.
Note: Venetian/Palazzo has the highest number of great restaurants on premises.
