Once again, a well reviewed local provider cancels on me last minute.  Appointment was set two days prior via text. Two minutes before appointment, I get a text saying that she needed to deal with a problem and wanted to postpone for one hour.  I agreed.  45 min later, she texts saying she is so distracted by the problem that it would be better to cancel for the night.  She texts whether I was free tomorrow night.  Since I was not, I suggested that she make it up to me on an appointment this Sunday night instead.  No reply.

You're correct, .. communication is key. And yes shit does happen… But not to respond back about Sunday? ..
Must've been some emergency!

At this moment I am still available for this Sunday. I am extremely reliable (I haven't cancelled a booking since I started in this industry).

I feel for you when you say this. Us providers have no shows no communication all the time so I know the feeling!  hope you get the memorable experience you deserve

Communications, along with travel and legal matters are all in haywire. Even still, I agree with you. She should have gotten back to you. Communication and acknowledgement are key!

Good call, KoLV, I have had a few disasters in the past during Mercury Retrograde and now I do my best to schedule and communicate at other times. If possible, wait until the 10th or so to initiate contact.

Tell us WHO --- so tired of hearing this story without any information. Is it the same person doing the same thing to a lot of people or is it multiple providers? Give us some information on the provider so we don't make the same mistake. Lots of very reputable providers and agencies in LV so name the provider who flaked on you.

 This morning, I texted her at 11am to see if she was doing better and to try and book for Sunday.  
 Still no reply.    
   
 I understand shit happens and at least I was not no-showed on.  But it is really annoying when communications just stop so abruptly with no explanation.  It is unprofessional.  I hope she was able to deal with her problem.  But since this is CES week, I can't help but think she may have just went with a better offer for the night  
   
 If any providers are reading this, just know that communications is key.  If stuff happens, just communicate and all is cool.  When communications stop, such as now, I don't know whether to book with someone else or just keep waiting for a reply.  Worst yet, I don't know why she chose to stop communicating.  Was it something I texted?  Should I not have said, "make it up to me"?  It was meant just playfully.  So frustrated.

I know things happen on both sides and people need to cancel but I agree communication is key.
But who knows what the real reason for the cancellation.
But as you can see from the responses you have gotten so far there are many of us who show up on time and provide a great service

Please let me know who, so I know who to avoid in the future. Sorry this happened to you. I have had some considerate providers that when they needed to cancel, they helped find someone that would be available to meet.

Just Google it and read about it. Think about when times have been messed up in all those aspects and you can confirm it was during a Mercury Retrograde....
