I definitely started spending more time on here when I deleted all of my social media.

When I decided to be a mommy to two doggies and stay home more often I pretty much quadrupled it...

I would rather spend all day on here then have a Facebook. At least this is entertainment and my job in one.

besides some of the back and forth drama i have seen, it is a good source for needed information

When I started, I allotted myself about 20 minutes a day.   Although I don't visit everyday, there are days when I can easily blow two hours by visiting several times a day if there are good threads around.   It is addictive.   For me, the reason is rather simple, my little hobby is something I have done for a long time and I don't share it with anybody, this is a tangible way for me to get to experience it with other people, even when I disagree with their opinions.

Fortunately, I work for myself but I do have employees and I have to pay attention.  I have to confess, a few weeks ago, this lovely intern from a nearby university walked into my office and she caught me red-handed.
