So I just took some new photos (lol- I know FINALLY) and I am trying to figure out the best way to protect my identity when I post them and yet still have some aesthetically pleasing images...

So do you prefer the look of pictures with the head cropped off or with the face blurred out?
OR am I overthinking things and it doesn't even matter as long as the image is hot in general, lol?

I read a study on how humans do a remarkable job of identifying faces, even under many kinds of extreme degradations. For example, humans can recognize familiar faces in very low-resolution images (See the Image below and see how many you can identify!). The scientists speculate that we have learned to do this because we must often recognize people at a distance and in motion. Unfamiliar faces, however, were more difficult with degradations—which may explain why it’s difficult to identify unknown suspects in a police line-up.

The pics below are just for guessing fun- I will post the answers to the names a little later or feel free to shout out who you think you know!  (But I will say the average recognition rate at this resolution is one-half)

I wont list them because I dont want to spoil the fun for the rest of you. I am only stuck on #5 and #9. It will probably come to me later though.
I know the photo question was for the guys but personally I don't like the smudged faces. I prefer when you turn your head, hide behind hair, a mask or sunglasses. Maybe wear sunglasses while eating an ice cream cone. I saw a pretty photo today of a lady in her ad who used the glare of the sunlight hitting her just right to conceal her face features.

You're very pretty, from what I've seen you really dont need to show your face at all.  Blur away.  I know 10 for sure.  Missing 5 and 11

#11 Cher?

I dont know who he is so I'm guessing he's a tv star?  I dont watch t

From left to right: 1. Michael Jordan, 2. Woody Allen, 3. Goldie Hawn, 4. Bill Clinton, 5. Tom Hanks, 6. Saddam Hussein, 7. Elvis Presley, 8.Jay Leno, 9. Dustin Hoffman, 10. Prince Charles, 11. Cher, and 12. Richard Nixon.

One more really cool thing...

The single facial feature that is most vital for recognition is a bit of a surprise—it’s not the eyes, but rather the eyebrows that people seem to depend upon most for identification.

In the images below the ones on the far right are the original images of Richard Nixon and Winona Ryder. Most people have a better chance of recognizing a person with eyebrows and no eyes (like in the center image), rather than with eyes only and no eyebrows (left)

Thanks for indulging my geeky side!

1 - michael jordan 2 - woody allen 3- ??? 4 - Younger Bill Clinton 5 - ??? 6 - Saddam Hussein
7 - Elvis Presley 8 - Jay Leno 9 - Younger Dustin Hoffman 10 - Prince Charles 11 - Cher Bono 12 - Richard Nixon

3 might be younger sarah palin
5 - I have no fucking idea.
the rest im pretty confident about.

Fun distraction Carly, thanks!!

Or if your hair is long enough, your hair covering g your face.
