This one goes out to both providers and hobbyists.  I'll be visiting Vegas in a week or so. And this will be my first time with a provider from TER (I still haven't made my choice on which one yet).  The hotel that I'll be staying at has security guards at the elevators.  Or at least they did when I was out there in April.  To get past them you need a hotel room key.  If I want my provider to me in my room and not in the hotel bar what's the best way of going about it?  I don't want to sound like such a newbie but when it comes to providers and Sin City but that's exactly what I am.  Thanks for all the help.

If security is at the elevators asking for room keys to get on, then you don't have much choice but to meet them in the lobby somewhere and escort them up.

Depends on the hotel. At the Venetian, they will call up to your room to get the ok to let guests in. If that service is not available, then you'll need to meet her downstairs and escort her up.

This really isn't a big deal if you're willing to meet in the bar, but I know there's lots of reasons you wouldn't want to do that (in a group, etc.) Like others suggested, check and see if security can call up to your room to let a guest in.

If it's just a guard standing around w/ no phone, then you might want to get an extra room key, meet your provider in the bar, slip her the key, then go your room seperately. (Now you have some plausable deniability. You can say you were approached, but turned her down!)

Lots of hassle, but you gotta work around these things sometimes!

Well....... It depends on where you are staying
and the provider you choose.
