I have been out of the hobby to quite a while - but coming to Vegas next week so I figured might be a good time to have a little fun..  Been looking around and I noticed I don't see any providers taking bitcoin for payment - does anyone here know of anyone that does?  One the plus side there is no trail other than a digital hash, and by the time the appointment is over it could be worth 10%  more.  Con - could be worth 10% less.. though the rates have pretty much stabilized..  many big retailers are taking bitcoin as payment and you can so easily sell your BTC to USD now..  just more of an observation / question for everyone..

I take bitcoin, most people seem to prefer cash but I enjoy the convenience of it.  Once your screened if that is your preferred way of payment, I just request the fee amount.  Easy and done!

Sorry, I am an old guy and I have no idea how this works.  If I agreed to pay you one bitcoin, how would I do that. Would it be something we would do on line once I got to room? Would I have to set some things up in advance?

I know it is a virtual currency but where did it come from. There is no Federal Reserve of Bitcoin. How does it get mined or created?

Thanks in advance.

The topic is too big to get into here, just use some google-fu and you will find plenty of sites explaining it.  I will say that I have been using bitcoin for over 3 years and all but two of my transactions were successful meaning they posted to my account, just like any bank check or credit card. The two that weren't successful were my own fault and then I just had to contact the responsible parties to figure out what I had goofed up.  Don't let Television and the Media scare you, Bitcoin and most of the crypto/virtual currencies are simply a mechanism for exchanging value. They are not regulated or protected so they have some risk, but so does gambling at a casino. Governments are still catching up with the technology but they will eventually. BTW, Expedia lets you pay for hotels with it and Microsoft will let you buy movies and apps at the xbox store.

cheers,

Thank you both.  I will do that.

If you send me an email address, I will send you a Word doc that I made with beginner's insight and instruction.

... but cash is still King to me.
Although with reading about its popularity and the reputable ladies that except it peaks my curiosity lightly to know more .. lightly 🤔
