Well that didn't take very long.

Several of the MGM properties recently raised their 'Resort Fees' without announcing it?!

Not that the costs are an issue, it's just that there are several MGM properties that have made me late to appointments, because of the clusterf*ck that their garage becomes during random times.

I am really not thrilled about them taking pictures of license plates as you enter the garage either, just on a basic privacy level. Which means I refuse to let them scan my license to save a few bucks.

So it'll actually save time & energy, the $$ spent will break even, plus keeping a low profile, to take ride share to appointments. No more tracking car mileage, can just write off the charges at the end of the year. Easy, breezy, as it should be. :)

Downtown/uptown parking rates in my town are very expensive so I take UBER. There is UBER-x that is less money than the "black car" so gauge your expense when appropriate. The parking is usually more than the UBER and they'll drop you off at the front door.

To get to the strip from my house it's about $15 each way. It just depends on how close you live to the strip. In the end it's still cheaper for me to drive in.

If I took a Lyft or Uber from my house to the Strip I would be out alot of money roundtrip.
Plus I am used to driving myself anyways so while paying for valet is a pain in the butt depending on how long the visit is in the hotel.I will never scan my ID to park to save $7 or $13 not worth it to me.I will just pay for valet and I still tip the valet guys.

They run 50% off during X hours rather regularly and probably do the same in other cities too, just fyi. Plus you can always check the fares between the two as sometimes Uber is less. I'm kind of practical so Uber black would be a waste of money and totally not necessary as who is going to see me arrive? No one and I don't care about that kind of stuff anyway. :)

It really turns out to be worth it, not having to deal with traffic, or finding a spot (because I detest valet... lol) and then hiking through the garage into the property with a large suitcase.

Yes, I live close and this is one of the reasons why, no commute so to speak. Which means there is savings on gas, driving time, wear & tear on the car, my car insurance rates are less too.

But it really boils down to how I want to spend my time. It's super valuable and I don't want to spend it sitting in traffic. :) I realize though, that the majority of Vegas has a commute so that won't be the case for most everyone.

Plus, you get to support a small local business (the drivers) instead of some person in casino accounting who is in charge of tabulating the parking revenue. Win-win

I'm the same about living close to work, play and gym. The UBER "black car" would usually be a waste ($15.00 within one mile radius) but I use it for attending dressier events. The UBER-x is about $6.00 within a one mile radius from my home and the UBER-share is half that $3.00... The UBER-share is a pain in the butt and unpredictable. Sometimes they show, sometimes they show on time or sometimes they're on time and quick.

. . . since the parking at non-MGM properties has been a total mess as soon as the gates went up.  When the economy once again takes a dump, we will remember who our friends are

But what the fuck here it goes, flames on!
I had an extra MILFE Gold Card on me. My favorite girl was visiting me. She saw the Gold Card on the dresser and she asked if she can have it. I didn't have a problem with it so I have it to her. Now is it working out for her, I think so...So if you ladies have a regular, who happens to have an "Extra" Gold Card, or Platinum Card, hit him up. I'm sure he'll give you one.
I usually fly so I don't think they can track me, but if they do, fuck it. I'll stay at the Jockey Club...lol
And one thing to consider, MILIF and Total Rewards now have credit cards where you can build points and where you move up in tier. I know when you sign up for the MILFE card you're bumped up a tier and you're not that far from being a Gold Member. I mean you gotta buy shit anyways, right? so....why not?
I'm not a big gambler and I've stayed a Platinum and Gold Member like forever it seems...Just one thing to consider.

I actually got one from a client recently now that you've said that. I need one for MGM properties!!

For obvious reason, there's no benefit to you and he doesn't need the rating that much....the pit boss with check their ID system to your card and if you don't look like Tricky Dickie then it can get awkward......got it?

Since this " Vegas is charging for parking" started, I've been taking Uber or Lyft when working (dates) and it actually works great. The small price for transportation is something that we can afford (based on average Vegas girls rates) .Not having to worry about finding a place to park(what sometimes can take quite a while) & walking back to the car late at night (if shelf parked) with money on your purse is worth the Lyft/Uber rate in my humble opinion. If God forbid, (haven't heard os such thing yet) you have a problem with a uber/Lyft driver, it's possible to track who picked you up.
Vegas is the only place I know that had free valet for so long, so we got spoiled.
Does it suck to pay for a service that used to be free? Yes, it does! But it's still a lot cheaper than parking in places as LA, for example.
Another advantage of Lyft & Uber is if you are in long date where you might have more than the usual 2 drinks allowed to drive (not talking about getting drunk while working, but metro in Vegas can be very strict about drinking and driving) you are safer having someone driving you home, an option that usually we are less likely to take if our car is already parked at the hotel...
Just my two cents on the subject.....

I was recently in Vegas for a week and it was my first time using Uber in Vegas.  Personally, I do not see the need to ever take a cab in Vegas again.  I'd say they are at least 50% less expensive than a cab for the typical run between the strip and downtown or off strip. A trip from the Trop, where I stayed, to MSS downtown was only $13.00.   Drivers and cars are actually nice.

I agree with those that say they don't want to be tracked.  It's just one more thing for providers to worry about

..uber and lyft are on my speed dial :)
From my house to the strip is 20 there 20 back.  I consider it a Small price to pay for mine and everyone else's safety after enjoying a intoxicating beverage or two.. Plusss..no parking, no walking/mini hikes ( now I don't have to bring two pairs of shoes… LOL) .I can text, do final girly touches, and not deal with all of the Las Vegas strip traffic.  .. With all that it's well worth it for me.
