From LV Review Journal:

"From Thursday through Monday, 403 arrests were made of people attending NBA All-Star events or in town for NBA-related activities, Gillespie said. Of those arrested, 172 were residents, and 231 were from outside Southern Nevada.

A majority of the arrests, 239, were for prostitution-related crimes. During an average week, the department makes about 175 vice-related arrests. Gillespie said vice arrests increased because the number of squads dealing with such crimes was doubled."

I talked to someone yesterday who said that the regular vice staff is up to 32 officers.  It has about doubled in the past 10 years.  Girls have reported that some of the officers seem really young.

"Not only were most of the major nightclubs booked for private parties (meaning most people couldn’t even get in), the majority of the crowd that the NBA All Star Games have attracted to Las Vegas absolutely whole-heartedly just plain sucks. Pardon my bitching here, but I have gotten phone call after phone call from friends within the nightlife industry who were looking for someone to vent to about the total bullshit they’ve had to deal with this weekend. Girls getting violently groped, people being threatened for absolutely no reason, and more fights than one could even comprehend. A good friend of mine was walking past this guy at the Palms the other day, he grabs her ass and she does what any self respecting person would do and yells at him “Don’t touch me!” He then starts cussing her out, calls her a bitch, and tries to throw punches like it was her fault. Another friend was pulling out of the Fashion Show Mall parking garage and these two girls with “grills” try to walk out in front her car. She keeps going since she has the right-a-way, so they start cussing her out and then throw a chocolate milkshake on her windshield. Really now, who does that?"

"Texas Man Shot Outside Strip Liquor Store
(Las Vegas, NV) -- Police say an unidentified Dallas man was shot and wounded outside a Las Vegas Strip liquor store on Saturday night. Authorities say it began when two women tried to cut into a line at "Strip Liquor" on Las Vegas Boulevard South near Convention Center Drive. Police say others in line protested, and the situation escalated when someone fired a gun. The Dallas man was wounded, and he remains hospitalized at University Medical Center. The suspects tried to drive away from the area, but were spotted by police helicopters. Patrol officers arrested seven suspects without incident. The suspects have not yet been identified."

“I can't wait for these people to leave!!! We almost had all of our lounges shut down Friday night. Some jackass threw broken glass at a bar porter and now his arms are all cut up. Then another one threw the garnish tray at another co-workers. We've all been called bitches, fat ugly hos (they need to look in the mirror!), and had punches thrown at us. Even our managers are completely disgusted with this crowd. So I totally agree with you 100%. Don't let this crowd back!!”
