Is really nice as well as the restaurant by the Elevators the Chart House I beleve is great. During summer the pool is a nice scene with the shark tank embedded in. The suites at Golden Nugget are very nice also, the lovely 2 floor suites with curving stairwell and Jacuzzi bathtub overlooking downstairs. Many downtown hotels have renovated and are convenient when coming out to Fremont Experience. Many times while there are low rates, upgrading to the suites are a nice change for more space for you and a companion. I have many friends and acquaintances that prefer downtown than the strip, and many gems to be found as far as accommodations. Also there are nice crash pads available for rent that are nice albeit the location and difficulty of parking but these are condos and offer a great alternative to a hotel stay.

I for one do enjoy many downtown areas and really, often it is the company that keeps you entertained, no matter where you are

Looking far into the future for a trip and would be setting up my first-ever date. Do most ladies travel to The D or El Cortez? Looking at getting one of the bigger rooms at one of those places to have plenty of room to relax.

There are plenty of good choices. The Golden Nugget is really nice...The plaza was completely updated and their petite suite is nice and inexpensive...El Cortez has a king jacuzzi suite and four recently remodeled designer suites for reasonable rates. The D (formerly the Fitzgerald) was also recently updated and their king corner room is very nice.

I go to downtown hotels.  The D is a fun spot.  Downtown has a lot of fixed up casinos that are all enjoyable!

The D has nice rooms and I like The Grand as well. The Plaza has redone there rooms too!! All good choices.

I sure do go to downtown, it's an exhilarating experience every time I get to go, due to all the remodeling and the new sights and at times feel like a tourist in my own city, and a date downtown would top it all off...

The D hotel is a bit tacky (no offense though I lovvvve "the d" lol).....

If you don't want to stay at the Golden Nugget Rush Tower, try the Downtown Grand which has great reviews and is a quick block walk from D (old Lady Luck). The suites are nice and very affordable....Its only been around for 1 year
