Sad to say, he didn't do it. He had trouble and for the first time in history, the Belmont favorite came in last. The jockey did the right thing and didn't force him, therefore possibly saving the horse's life, kudos to the jockey. Kent Desarmo is a great jockey.
At odds of 1-4, there was no way I was bettin' on Brown. I did however take a chance on the longshot. Five $20 win tix on Da'Tara. Now thats a payday!!!!
poor big brown, he didn't look right down the stretch, some discomfort. I wouldn't be surprised if they find something wrong despite the fact that dutrow said every thing was all right.
so much for $50 million stud deal down the old crapper.....wish someone would pay me $50 million to do it, but then again I can't gallop much faster than old model T fueld by hay seeds.
On one hand I am sorry for the horse and am glad the jockey got him home o.k. but I am so happy that the trainer got the come-uppance he deserved. He has been suspended numerous times for drugs and drugging his horses. He acted like a first class jerk and A-hole leading up to the race and got what he deserved. Comments from some trainers and owners indicate they feel the same way.
...and had a trainer who could keep his mouth shut and showed a little humility and class, he might have won. Everybody knows UPS means U People Suck...ever get a package on time from them?????
supposedly sold Big Brown to stud for $50 million prior to the Belmont. So in addition to getting a UPS contract, the owner(s) got paid big without winning the Belmont to finish off the triple crown.
