My e-mails to MSN and hotmail are getting blocked starting yesterday.  How do I fix this?  It is a major problem!
Also, do anybody know a good way to send out to e-mail lists.  I have been having problems for years.


On a side note....
Check out this number: 818-432-3180
"You have reached a non-working Caller ID number.  Please hang-up and dial your party directly."  WTF???  Are the phone companies giving people the option for bogus Caller ID info now?  It is just a reminder not to trust Caller ID info.

While someone may have opt-ed in your mailing list before, they may have forgotten about it or changed their mind. Usually hotmail wont unblock what they considered as a spammer email address. You prolly have to get a new email address and rethink your mailing list strategy.

and yes anyone can fake caller id easily. google "caller id spoof"...it takes only a few bucks to display ANY number on the caller id

and I don't do mailing lists from that.  In fact, my personal one is worse because it is now being blocked form Yahoo addresses too.  It actually started with my personal one and has effected on of my Yahoo e-mail addresses also.  Even ones that are VERY private like the one that I use exclusively to talk to Nikkie my part-time secretary.  They different messages from the different places say that my IP is blocked.  But I am on a cable modem and we share dynamic IPs.  I might have to get a static one.  I think they're only $10 or so.

I will look around for a good newsletter service that has it's own mail server.  Tiffany Diamond was telling me one time that she found a good way to send out her tour announcements, but she hasn't returned my calls yet. :(

They said that MSN/Hotmail has been blocking quite a few of their IPs from all over the network for the past two days.  They said that they are in the middle of negotiations and hope to get it resolved soon.  They also suggested that I switch to a business account with a static IP (no static for residential anymore) for $100/mo instead of the $40/mo that I pay now.  The upload/download speeds would be the same.  LOL!!  'Yeah, sure, I'll jump right on that. You are causing me problems so I should reward you by giving you more money every month.' (grrrrrrr) ---- That would be me growling at Cox.  I often growl, but rarely bite.

So, for the newsletter dilema, I subscribed to a CAN-SPAM compliant service.

Gotta love Cox!  (that was C-O-X not cocks ;-))  I used to have a business account for the exact reason - the static IP - until after 2 years I discovered my IP was changing.  At least I did get a couple free months of cable because of it.  But another catch to that scenario is when you have a problem you have to call the business customer service, which is only open 9-5 hours.  No more 24 hour technical support with a business account.

ok YES, it has been YEARS since this message was posted however I feel like I should add too it in case someone is still trying to figure out what is going on with the number 818-432-3180 because the guy who is calling from that number is STILL at it..

That number is a "junk" line located in a business in Studio City CA. I know where but I prefer someone to PM me for the info. What I can tell you is that some jack ass who goes by the name " Paul" works there and uses that line to call providers and scour the ads. He is rude, relentless and a HUGE time waster. He identifies himself as Paul, the guy with the Star Wars tattoos. I have met him once out of the 200 times he has called and flaked or cancelled... mostly flaked. But that number is basically a junk line in an extra office in an entertainment companies building that lets outgoing calls out but not incoming. How do I know this you might ask? Well, after  years of this jerk calling me, it turns out that I know someone who works in that building and they called me from that phone when their cell died! Ha ha, how about that! So I got the scoop on the number, discreetly of course.

So, just put this number down as a DNA in your phone, he is a loser.

Again, PM me if this jerk is harassing you, I know he is relentless and I know how irritating he is... I also have his cell.
