Being a newbie here, is it a celebrated holiday or mostly looked over since every day is a holiday here?

Quzi? I know you will have the answer to this right Bob? :)

I am so glad to be back! Can you tell?

Hic! exchushe mee, i shtarted a wee bit errrly fooor the shellabrayshun, hic.
The best place on the strip for real authentic music and grub is Nine Fine Irishman. I'll be there early for some guinees and irish mist. Then i may go to fado at green valley ranch, another fine irish pub. I will finish at Steiners Pub on S. Las Vegas Blvd. Cover band playing Led Zeppelin, and great people that work there. Lots o' Guiness and lots o' friends. Hope to see you all there. Look for the big drunken irishman with the white and green Yankees cap.

There's like way too many irish pubs in town now.  Stripside, you have Nine Fine Irishman (NYNY).  Just off strip, you have Tilted Kilt (Rio, although the standalone location on Spring Mountain near Decatur is less busy; owners also own a bar called Slanted Clam on Sahara just west of Valley View), Jack's (Palace Station), Brendan's (Orleans) and McMullan's just outside the Orleans.  I hit Fado's (Green Valley Ranch) last year (they charged a cover but gave you a gift card for the value of the cover for a future visit, was good til end of June I think).  Further off the beaten path are places like Three Angry Wives (they got Summerlin and Green Valley locations but I think I see more about the Summerlin one).  While not really irish, Crown & Anchor has a great selection of drinks on draught (that's tap for you americans).

There's a pre-St. Patty's day bar crawl downtown, 6pm-10ish.

add:
Tells you how much I pay attention to Summerlin, someone reminded me of JC Wooloughan (JW Marriott) and Sean Patrick's.  And my biggest oversight?  O'Sheas.  the casino.  on the strip.  oh boy.  I need another drink.

Bob

You claim ignorance and yet you always seems to know the ins and outs (no pun intended) of the Las Vegas scene!  I knew you would come through with some solid information! Missed you Bob and glad to be back in the mix! Will I see you at the rumoured gathering on the 24th?

Lake Las Vegas: Auld Dubliner.  Tells you how many times I end up there.

We need a regular bowling night, like during the week, maybe late at night.  Maybe force me to buy a ball.
