I get a kick out of the many phone calls I receive like: "Can you get to the Bellagio in 20 minutes?" Yes these calls really do happen ... and far more often then you may think, lol. *Smile*
I'm curious about how far from the strip you gals are. Naturally without giving out any details, I am 20 miles one way to the center of the strip. During low traffic times, I can go one way in as little as 30 minutes, but more often then not it is a minimum 45 minute drive for me each way, and occasionally *ugh* an hour drive.
Sure do wish I lived closer ... a LOT closer, lol. But I won't be moving anytime soon.
Lucky you Olivia for having the guts to live so close to the madness of the strip,it feels so nice to get away from after spending all day on the strip. This is so true ,I think everyone that is on vacation forgets that there is life outside of LVB.I no longer offer 1hour appt due to my distance from the strip. I wont be moving anytime soon either so I have to make sure that each trip counts that I make .

Those call are too funny! Sometimes, with traffic on the side roads, it can take 20mins just to get to the Wynn. Love being in the middle of it all though! The drive from the far SW side was just too much. Great view, super convenient to most of Vegas. The most bang for the buck on a square footage basis with the aesthetic and security features I wanted, considering the location, without blowing the budget Ended up picking up more business because of being so close and not having to factor in the commute.
I would be about 15-20 minutes away.....however the traffic on the 15 can be moving along at the speed of a parking lot....so it can take me an hour+ to get to the strip.
about 13miles from the strip. If I take side streets I can make it to the strip in about 20 min but depending on where I have to go on the actual strip that could take another 20 or 30 min.
I have thought about getting a condo on the strip but I really enjoy living away from all that chaos. Sometimes, I will stay on the strip during busy times and it does help business to be so close to the action.
I wish I was closer to the strip I used to live 10min away but now it is more like 30min.That is if there is no traffic or the people slowing down to look at an accident at the side of the freeway instead of driving. If there is traffic it can take almost 45min at times but I tend to have a lead foot so I usually can get there within 30min.
Google maps gives me 3 routes to the Bellagio ranging from 8.3 to 10.7 miles. Close enough to see it from my second floor window, but far enough away that it has no effect on my lifestyle.
I'm a depressing 5,277 miles away and it takes about a year to get there! That's about the same distance as it is from the car park at Caesars to the room!
I'm with the other girls - about 25 miles away. I like living away from the strip but it can be a pain in the butt depending on what time of the day you head down that way.
We are surrounded by the beauty of Red Rocks, golf courses, sparkling pools and master planned communities. I have learned to take the side streets to The Strip--faster than the highways, especially during high traffic or when there's an accident.
I agree with Olivia, there are nice places to live on/very close to The Strip. I had a corporate home in Las Vegas Country Club before heading further west, and it was very private, quiet, clean and SO close to The Strip!
Sometimes I remind my patrons that just parking/valeting and walking through most of the casinos takes 10-20 minutes in itself.
I have been making annual trips to Vegas, and more, for the past ten years...two AVN trips, a Superbowl trip when the Steelers beat the Cards..last five summers, including two pool party trips, a Friday night at the Trop, etc. Best wishes to Doc Gonzo, B3, Tasha, Nikki Avalon, Cindy Spice, LaRue, etc.
I may live in NJ, a long way indeed from Vegas. But I saw Sexy Toni this evening, and some of you may remember her as one your own when she lived there a few years ago. I don't say this brag, just to maintain that we in the hobby, despite distances, are always connected. Isn't that the way it's supposed to be?
But due to a number of factors, I still require at least about an hour prior to scheduling as anything can delay you from traffic to accidents or parking/valet full etc. Oh, and let's not get started about the construction on several Vegas streets. If I am already dressed and ready for the day/night, and just lounging around, the fastest I can make it to many casinos is about 20 minutes, but that's if I haul a$$.
Often I take the time to freshen up and look my best, so this adds a few more minutes but my gents usually know this and are patient with me. On occasion, I've rushed to a gent who is on limited time and last minute, and often the said gent is very appreciative of the effort I've made.
