Ok for real. Dancing in Vegas is not as easy as it seems. The clubs are geared to much younger and wilder crowd. And they are expensive. A typical minimum is $500 for "table service", almost twice as much as two Cirque tickets. But there are a series of "lounges with dance floors" that are more suitable for our age group. If you do prefer a bigger dance club, the "off strip casinos" offer a slightly scaled back alternative. The Palms and the Rio are good choices.
The trick is finding the right club, and for that kind of information you need to "provider concierges", ladies that are familiar with the Vegas night life and can put a good package together. Kiwi has three "packages" on her web site: golf, skiing and dancing. April, while not listing packages on her web site, is well known for her knowledge of Vegas dining and entertainment.
My recommendation for a nice evening out in Vegas:
The Bourbon Lounge was really a nice club, it was everything I was looking for; dance floor, music, and you could have a conversation as well. And it was affordable (yeah I can be a budget miser sometimes, it's just that the less I spend outside, the more I get to spend inside).
The Rock of Ages show is at the same casino, the Venetian. It's a cute show, and affordable. The Venetian has a web site that lets you pick your seats, kinda like the airlines. I choose $60 isle seats that were five feet away from the $120 seats. It’s not a Cirque, and it doesn’t compare to the “Jersey Boys”, but its fun, affordable, and the Bourbon Lounge is part of the show's story line. It makes for a “warm and fuzzy” moment. You can see the show, then dance a little at the lounge and of course, you and your date, can make your own happy ending.
And last but not least, and honorable mention goes to the Market Square. It's a neat little walking mall south of the strip that has an entirely different atmosphere than the regular Vegas scene. I didn't spend much time there, just a quick walk through, but it reminded me of Florida, spacious, slow paced, outdoor entertainment, and a wide range of retail stores. They host two "Lounges", Stoney's Country Bar and the Blue Martini. They were recommended by two different providers and thus the "honorable mention".
Good luck.
I hope this was helpful information.
