Hello My darlings. I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy March. Although I'm the resident Irish Broad, I don't celebrate St. Paddys day, but I love all the beautiful green you see everywhere this month.
Soooo if a wild Shamrock tickles your tush, then give me a call and lets get Lucky *wink* It will be fun I promise
Nice sexy photo Lass!!! I just love your sexy green eyes!! Have a great St. Paddy's day, even if you don't celebrate it. Enjoy all the green of spring as I sit up here looking at a blanket of snow knowing there will be no green here until late May early June
Don't blame you for not celebrating St Patrick's Day! I don't know about in the US but over here it's the most fake thing around. People who've never been near Ireland suddenly getting into the whole Irish thing. Basically, it's become a marketing opportunity for Guinness an excuse for people to get drunk and has very little to do with Ireland at all!
Shiver, perhaps you (or anybody else) can illuminate me a little. I've often wondered about people's enthusiasm for proclaiming their Irish heritage and celebrating St Patrick's Day but yet they have never visited Ireland. To me if it's something people are so proud of it's natural they would want to visit the country. Otherwise I wonder about their motivation for their Irishness. Any thoughts?
I have always been very proud of my Irish heritage. I am second generation born to this country. I was told many stories as a littl girl of the countryside, customs and overall feeling of the country I long to visit.
I am 3/4 Irish and a 1/4 Welsh. I studied my family geneoly for a long time. My reasons fo not celebrating St. Pats Day stems from my own spiritual beliefs. Although St. Patrick has been hailed as a great man who drove the snakes out of Ireland LOL..he also drove out the Druids and Pagans and almost completely destroyed a religion that had thrived and flourished on that island for centuries. He was also known to burn women and children at the stake for being heretics. So he wasn't as wonderful...at least in my eyes...as some people think.
So to answer your question from my perspective, I am very proud of my Irish Heratige. I am proud of the music, artwork and lush and fascinating lineage the Irish people brought to the United States. I dream one day of taking my daughter there and enjoying and learning about our families history together.
How ya doing? Are you enjoying Las Vegas? Well Happy St. Patrick's Day!!! In answer to your question. If someone visits Ireland, it doesn't make them Irish. Being Irish is what I am, it's my heritage, and it is with me no matter where I go. Where ever me and/or my decendants go from now until forever, our roots will always be in Ireland. There's nothing I can do to change that fact, so I might as well like it. And today is the day to celebrate those roots. And drink, yes drink a lot. So Cheers, To all my friends (be you Irish or not) Let's get a drink!
I've never been near Ireland, But I am from Irish decent, And I love my St. Paddy's day. It is very much so an excuse to drink, and have fun, and be merry with friends, If they be Irish or not I say the more the merrier!! So if you be Irish(God bless you) or not raise a pint(or 12) and have yourself a great ole St. Paddy's day!!!
To Lass:I appreciate the pride you take in your Irish heritage(I have none in me) However I have lived in Chicago all my life, and there's a LOT of Irish heritage HERE.Saturday, the Chicago River is dyed green;the parade starts at noon,Corn beef and cabbage is served everywhere.THIS year,we have a bonus;a snowstorm last week is being replaced by 60 degree temperatures today, and the lads and lasses will be partying!
