I'm not a huge gambler but I do drop a few bucks a several times a year. Reviewing my MLife account they dropped my two tiers. Not cool. I usually stay at Mandlay or Delano. It's sure nice to get the rooms comp. More $ for fun things. Any suggestions for other casinos other then MGM?

Thanks

I exclusively stay in the MGM Mansion, Aria, or Bellagio these days. These are high end properties. They expect high level play to comp you. Mandalay Bay and Mirage are mid-level. At the lower end, you have hotels like Monte Carlo, NYNY and Excalibur. If you decide to stick with MGM properties and get a better deal with free rooms, try MC.

Venetian is almost high end, but I heard they provide better perks. Never stayed there except when I went to a convention.

If you switch to the Caesars group, Paris and Planet Hollywood might be your mid- to lower end choices. Never stayed in these.

Wynn/Encore is high end. As is the case with Aria and Bellagio, you have to be a big player to get free rooms and other perks. I stayed at the Wynn three times. I prefer Aria these days.

Also Caesar's has Total Rewards but their line of hotels is so so. I feel you, Mlife knock me down one tier to Gold....not cool.

I'm not a high roller, but I've been receiving the best comp offers from Boyd properties like the Orleans and Main Street Station  They been pretty consistent over the past several years in sending quarterly offers of 2-4 comped rooms with varying amounts of dining credit.  In fact, I be staying at the Orleans on an upcoming trip and using one of those offers.

In the past, I've often split my stay between the Orleans, Wynn/Encore, and MLife properties.  Although, Wynn/Encore and MLife comps have been getting worse, even though I give them the same amount of playtime as the Orleans.

Station Casinos like Red Rock is suppose to be pretty good according to one of my friends.  If Red Rock was closer to the LV Strip, I would give them a try.

I would suggest the Mandarin Oriental. It is a non-gaming hotel, so no smoke filled casino to walk thru and it has fantastic views of the strip at night.

...in Vegas these days.  I've found comps to be tightest I've evr seen them, for low to mid-level player like myself.  Caesar's has a bunch of 2nd rate hotels, with tight machines and worst Blackjack rules on The Strip.  MGM's are tough to comp these days.
Cosmo has great rooms and easy comps Sunday thru Thursday, but very tight on weekends.
Wynn is all bean counters, too, but I really like the place and Encore.  They do seem a bit easier than Venetian/Palazzo to get room offers from.
Stay away from SLS--rooms are free, but it's full of thugs and tight machines.
Good Luck!

Let me know if you want any company while your here!

I'm partial to Marriott properties to begin with and with the Cosmopolitan, Marriott is finally on the strip. I pre-registered for the cheapest room they had, checking in Sunday night for 2 days. I made sure to arrive early (around 4pm) and discretely tipped the front desk just $20. I never said a word and he gave me a two bedroom, two bath, suite with full kitchen. The balcony overlooking the Bellagio fountain was more spacious than many standard size rooms. It's not going to happen every time and certainly not for a multi day stay or during peak periods. Gold or silver membership might make a difference. I was only a silver member at the time.

I'm a big fan of the Venetian/Palazzo.  However, I don't know about the other hotels, but if you play blackjack for under $50/hand, then they only pay 6/5, which really sucks.  I pretty much don't stay anyplace else.  Great rooms, great restaurants and shopping.

MLife reviews accounts and if you haven't given as much fun to them as the prior year they will lower you. That status doesn't last forever. You must gamble a bit if you made it up two tiers..
Do you want to stay at a casino hotel?
I always suggest Caesars properties because they are just so convenient..

Just a heads up, their rating goes Jan to Jan so you're at the end of their year if you're wanting to get status.

If it doesn't have to be a casino, I really like the Westin on Flamingo.

and they've reduced their maximum odds to 2-1 at craps so you likely will lose less.
All the other properties are second rate. LV needs some serious renovation.
