Any interesting dive bars to hang out at?

I'm a new local in LV, and i'd like to find some interesting dive bars to just hang out at (alone, don't know anyone here).  Places you can strike up conversations with people or people watch.

I find so many places are either completely dead, or too loud and obnoxious (like dance clubs).  I think certain places can be interesting at certain times, but i'm looking for something that's consistent to just be a barfly at.

Any suggestions?

Not *quite* a dive bar, but Golden Tiki on Spring Mountain Rd. can definitely be good for people watching & striking up conversations.

Among Laffy's suggestions, I've only been to Dino's. It was a bit quiet for my tastes, but then again, it was during the day. I'd totally give it another shot.

Of course there's another quite famous dive bar...the Stage Door on Flamingo, behind The Cromwell. I enjoy it, but would recommend staying away from the late evening hours there.

If you get to the downtown Fremont Street area, there are some interesting people at Hogs and Heffers and Nacho Daddy. Some good people watching there.

Love me a good dive bar! Much more my scene rather than the clubs… I don’t drink tho so a decent menu of greasy bar food is essential! Lemme know what u find!

Just was in town, and decided to check out the Rusty Spur for a couple beers on the way back from a little hiking. Weekday afternoon, so a little hard to judge, but I liked it and think it's probably a great local and/or people watching joint.

I had also forgot to mention Moondoggie's on Arville...have been there a few times, and it's definitely a solid dive bar, especially if you might enjoy a slightly punkish vibe.
