Hi
I'm brand new at this and have a question.  I'm going to Las Vegas w/ my girlfriend for a vacation and we want to hang with a provider that caters to couples. The providers that we are looking into all check references, which is a good thing, However, we ( GF and I) both work in a LE "type" agency  (not cops, but similar) in the Northeast.  We are going on vacation and looking to have relax and have fun.  We feel that what we do in the privacy of our home or on vacation is nobodys business but ours. Will a provider turn us down based on our jobs? If the provider called our job to check our  references, would they be discreet? What would  a provider normally say when checking references? They would be calling  a HR dept of a State agency. How can we assure the provider that we are ok?  It is a risk for us, too.  If WE got busted our careers would be over.  We only operate in our state and with the type of LE job we have, we don't have powers of arrest (at least not out of state).  We go away to forget what we do and have fun.
Can anyone offer any advice?

I've referred an FBI agent to a friend before.  The trick is to be REAL open about it, and then get lucky.  The call to the office shouldn't be a problem, especially if she knows in advance.

No offense intended of course.  However, LE strikes mistrust and fear in the hearts of most providers.  On the other hand, and the one which I understand better, LE are people too with needs and wants such as the rest of us.  Usually when we ask for references it's from previous providers you (or GF and you have seen).  I shy away from calling employers if possible ways around it are available for discretionary purposes etc.  Personal lives should be exactly that PERSONAL.  No one wants to be embarrassed at their job with talk around the coffee maker and water cooler. etc. etc. It's none of anybody's damn business.  I would have to agree with acidom's reply to this post. As long as you are very up front and honest about your LE type job, explain the situation, provide references (if previous providers aren't an option)of credibility and most importantly ensure that your sole purpose is as hobbyists not arresting officers, you will be as good as  you can be in a situation like that.  I  sympathize with your problem and hope I've been of some help.

Thanks, you have been helpful. Of course I understand what LE means to a provider and I do of course want to be honest. We are sincerely just looking for fun as hobbyists .I understand what you mean by you are or aren't but without going into too much detail, the word officer is in the job title but doesn't mean the same as "police" officer.  We have no affiliation with any departements or agencies but the one we work for in our own state....very far from LV.   We live about as far away from Las Vegas as you can get and we work for our state...so our LE powers that we have home do not carry across state lines and certainly not across the country!  
We're just as scared of LE in Las Vegas as the provider is.  We certainly wouldn't want to come home with an arrest on our records...because there goes our jobs, too.  
We have not seen any other independant  providers  so those type of references aren't an option for us.  
We did email 2 providers but have yet to hear back.  I guess it's a risk we took by being honest but we feel that honesty is the only way to go with this situation.  It has to be a mutual trust. I guess we scared everyone off!

There are many ways to screen someone without having references from other providers or calling someone's work .............but that is my "Ancient Chinese Secret" *wink wink*

Don't take it personally if ladies you email do not get back to you , it may have nothing to do with being honest.

Even guys many times don't get return emails.
Some ladies while their bedroom skills may be a 10,their administration skills are not as good……………. So don’t give up.

Personally I think honesty is the best policy ;-)

One of the legal brothels?  I'm not usually a fan of legal cathouses, they're expensive, and don't offer anywhere near the services of a good indie, but they 're completely legal, and don't screen at all.   Might not be what you're looking for, but in your situation, it's worth considering.
