I have a question for the gentlemen.

Would you go see a provider who cooked a meal for you as well as cook your meat?

I'm just trying to come up with ways to spice up my services and marketing techniques and I want to know what you really want out of a GFE. I realize not everyone wants the same thing but it would be great to get some suggestion.

Sure, there are a lot of places with celebrity chefs on the marquee in Vegas... but they don't tend to be in the kitchen. There are great restaurants in Vegas, for sure, but a fair number of them are derivative of other restaurants in other places. Vegas punches well about its weight for being a city of the size of KC, all told... but I'm not sure I'd take 'em over LA or NYC.

And Vegas as a wine capital? Uh, Napa, Sonoma, the Willamette pinot noir regions and the Columbia Valley would have to respectfully mention that they actually GROW the grapes and have the wineries that make the best wines in the US. Vegas, not so much. IMO, you can't be a wine capital unless you actually make the stuff.

If I remember correctly, the only restaurant that actually had the chef on the marquee working in the kitchen was Bradley Ogden, in Ceasars. I may be a "food snob", but these celebrity restaurants are one star less than their counterparts whereever they may be located.
You can always find an excellent meal in any of these places, just don't expect Daniel Bouloud or Joel Robuchon to come walking out of the kitchen every nite.
As for the wine capital. I will say that the Vegas restaurants have probably the best combination of cellars in the world. And that is because they can charge a hell of alot more than they can get in LA, or NY. It's amazing what people will spend on a bottle of wine after they hit it big at the tables.

Just my opinion.

Just to let you know. Just a 2 weeks ago I had the pleasure of seeing Tasha and I cooked for her. It was great talking while I cooked, we ate and then we COOKED. It was a great time and very "relaxing"????

I like the idea. Talking around the kitchen, sitting at the table, moving to the fireplace for desert...the idea seems like a winner to me!

I would rather have a meal prepared for me and my companion; so both of us could completely relax and get to know each other better.

Hard to have a conversation with madness going on in the kitchen. Plus if you get into things there is a chance something might get burned :)
