I had been trying to hook up with "Layla" for a while, but either our schedules didn't match or she wasn't available. I live in San Francisco and visit Las Vegas fairly often. After a chance encounter with her ad, I decided to gather my wits and give her a call. I'd done my homework, searched the reviews and checked out her site and she seemed legit and she even seemed sweet and friendly on the phone. I'd never done this kind of thing before so I was a little aprehensive about the whole thing but I got over that as soon as I dialed her number. I figured I'd find out if she was available and any additional details not readily apparent on her ad/reviews. I set up a preliminary appointment because I wasn't ready to see her just then and everything seemed to be going as I envisioned it from the onset. So appointment time rolls around and I give her a call and... no answer. Okay whatever, I had time to burn so I waited around for a bit and even sent her a text message as her voicemail advised. We hadn't confirmed anything so I wasn't too worried about a minor set back. Whatever, no big deal but I couldn't help but feel a bit anxious about the whole thing. So she finally calls back maybe 10-15 minutes later and my anxiety subsides and she seems genuinely sorry for not calling back earlier (she had a problem with her phone battery - understandable). So we talked for a bit and she asked a few screening questions and I gave her my information (this is normal for this kind of thing, right?) and she agreed to come over as soon as she could get a ride out to my hotel room. Awesome, I was ecstatic that this was finally going to happen. My excitement began to subside as time went on. Where was she? Did she get caught up in traffic? I tried my best to put a positive spin on the situation. Right when I was about to reach for the phone to call and ask her what was going on, she calls again and assures me she's on her way. Now, I thought this was weird but I had no reason not to take her at her word and I had already gone this far. More time goes by, at this point we are approaching 2 hours from the initial time we agreed upon. Again, I was new to this so I didn't think anything of it and even if she showed up then I'd still be okay on time. She finally arrives and calls me to ask me where I was and directions to my room. She didn't seem happy or friendly when I finally saw her in person. That caught me off guard. What happened to the person I talked to on the phone? She comes up to my room and I tell her to make herself comfortable - trying to be the gentleman. I was already starting to feel uneasy about the whole thing because she wasn't as friendly as she sounded on the phone but I didn't think too much of it because I figured my nerves were making me way too nervous to think straight. I should have called the whole thing off right then because after giving her the money she decided that she "didn't feel comfortable," and headed for the door. Wait, what? I didn't understand what was happening because it happened so fast it almost didn't register with me. I asked her what was wrong and she kept walking, ignoring me as if I had said nothing. Right then I figured it was some kind of con and I decided to let her walk because I didn't want her pimp or whomever she was on the phone with as she was walking away to attack me (you never know with these kinds of people). It is indeed $400 down the drain but I'd rather walk away unharmed than valiantly attempt to recover the money and get my legs broken as a result. She got me pretty good because looking back all the pieces fit and I was a sucker for buying all the excuses. She's a con artist and should be avoided at all costs. Don't let the reviews fool you as they are, circumstances considered, most likely fakes. Me thinks this is fair warning to anyone who might take the bait.
