German Food

There was a thread awhile back about German Cuisine in Las Vegas (lack thereof).  Someone suggested 'Cafe Berlin' at Decatur Blvd and Sunset Road.  I've eaten there twice since and must say the food is EXCELLENT.  Having said that, it is truly a Mom&Pop run cafe with almost no atmosphere at all.  Maybe it does have atmosphere, but it would be that of a German Ghasthaus updated 30 years and moved to Vegas... who knows!!  All I know is that I am getting hungry remembering how much I enjoyed the food.

I have eaten at the Hofbrauhaus on visits to Las Vegas.  The food is good and it is a real German beer garden atmosphere.  It's pretty noisy so if you take date you might find having a conversation a bit difficult.

Just ate at Hofbrauhaus the other day. They have great food and a fun atmosphere. You sit on long wooden benches with a lot of other folks so there is no private conversations. One fun aspect is that there is a girl that goes around giving spanking shots. She hits the guys bottoms with a paddle really hard and everyone giggles when he lets out a scream.

good to know i'll have to check it out then

Thanks for the tip.  I'll give it a try next trip.  I'm always on the lookout for good Deutsch Essen since some really great places in LV have closed down.

The Hofbrau can be really fun in the evenings.  The music, the spanking shots (especially when the girls get paddled), and the contests make for a good time.  Yes, the seating is benches like picnic tables, but you get to meet fun people that way.  Kind of reminds me of the original Hofbrau in Munich.  That was a fun place.

I need to figure out how to type umlauts.  Anybody?

Umlauts.  Go to control panel, click on regional and language and switch the keyboard to German

Thanks.  What I was thinking of and had forgotten how to do was something else.  After thinking about it, and a little search, I found what I was looking for.
