Caesars or Aria?

Another decision in hotels. The Augustus tower at Caesars
or the tower suites at Aria?  Thank you to those
who helped the last time with the hotel vs palazzo. It worked
out great. Thanks again in advance.

Which ever hotel you finally go for I'd recommend booking a basic room and upgrading when you get there.

We turned up at Caesars last October, having booked two basic rooms with the intention of upgrading a bit ($40-$60 a night). The girl behind reception suggested we combine the two rooms and for an extra $500 a night we could have what she called “The Rain Man Suite” (I think Tom Cruise had stayed there or he'd done some filming in the room). Two bedrooms, 3.500sq and a staircase! I'm pretty sure it's this one, Forum Tower Emperors Suite. http://www.vegaschatter.com/story/2009/6/17/171138/692/vegas-travel/How_to_Book_The_Real_Hangover_Room

A fantastic deal but unfortunately a bit too much for us. In the end we got a Forum Tower Royal Suite for an extra $70 per night.

The "Rainman" suite was used in the movie by the same name with a big scene by the window. It is a bit dated now but nevertheless a huge suite.

Aria in turn is new and very pretty but I have had nothing but trouble with the staff there.  Suffice it to say NEVER leave anything at the front desk for someone to pick up unless you make darn sure your name is on it (in case you must retrieve it) and the person picking it up as a valid photo ID in the exact name you have on the envelope. They will not give it back to you no matter what. Service is slow and they watch you like a hawk....that goes for security too. I have been asked my business for being there on several occasions while waiting for non work related friends at the bar.  Too nosy for my tastes for sure.

I'm a big fan of Caesars and always stay in the Agustus tower.  I always get a room on the upper floors so that I have a great view of the Bellagio fountains and the strip.  Just let them know that you want to face the Bellagio.  Another plus is the Diamond Lounge is located in that tower and the pools are easy to get to from the Agustus tower.  You don't have to worry about security here either.

Aria is really nice too and they have a very nice poker room.  I prefer to play poker though at Caesars.

I'm sure you will have a great time at either hotel.

Kasey

I would recommend the sky suites at Aria they have some great views and awesome rooms.Caesar's Augustus Tower is nice as well but if I had to choose between I would go with Aria. Also,Caesar's rooms in the roman tower are very nice they have huge upstairs/downstairs suites.
Good luck to you with which ever one you go with.

I second mandarin oriental as well if your budget allows for it.  How about the cosmo?  Went to a birthday party for a friend there and it was really nice.  In the end you can't go wrong.  And sign up to all of the hotel email updates.  You will get some nice promotions from time to time.
