They are just very risky. You risk your cash, any valuables you might have in the room (that laptop doesn't contain any personal or financial info does it?), and worst case, physical injury. Granted the most likely result is nothing more than an expensive upsell followed by limited or no service, but the rest is there.

It really is just a bit of a role play - suspending reality for a bit...nothing more than that. I think it would add another level of excitement to a session.

I certainly agree a bar pick up MAY not be worth it but...In the grand scheme of things this is Vegas. Never been to Vegas (an oversight I will soon correct) but it is Sin City. I have to think that the majority of hookups are with bar girls. There are just too many people hooking up that the ladies that are reviewed on TER and on other sites aren't anywhere near the number of ladies necessary to accomodate the masses. Don't get me wrong, there is certainly a great quantity of quality ladies in Vegas that I have learned about on the sites. The number of hookups have to be in the thousands each day. IMO the bar girls and the leaflet girls have to cover the majority. Its Vegas...its New Years Eve and amatuer night for all of us who visit. And that's OK. It means those of us who do our homework probably have a better chance of having better experiences. Now I do agree that flirting with a bar girl might be quite enjoyable as long as I keep my sanity and they're not pushy. Now if Jessica Biel trys to pick me up at a bar...I may have to change my mind about bar girls! Sorry if this was long winded.
most guys that go off half cocked and try and pick up a bar girl on a whim will let the booze and their little head empty the pocketbook for a chance at a little bit of heaven. Then the buyers remorse kicks in and they'll swear up and down to never spend that much ever again and turn them off the experience of a good time in Vegas forever.
The agencies and bar girls are all designed to pick off the unwary since the old says goes, there's a sucker born every minute. You're in Vegas with a lot of cash, they love it when you leave it with them.
A lot of the well reviewed providers require a lot of prep time to get ready and they love to have control over their schedule. They aren't the types of be able to jump in the car and get to your room in 30 minutes or less, looking perfect. Making arrangements in advance, making sure they're comfortable with you (screening/verification/referrals), making sure you're ready when they do show up, etc. It's a fair amount of work but you do end up having a great time in the end.
Well that was my fault. TravelinLover had grown some facial hair since I saw him at the Christmas M&G.
