A New Year's resolution of mine was to start writing in my blog.

Although, before I start this sexy journey I began to wonder..
Is Twitter more popular now a days?

My web designer says it is a must have...Im not so sure..I've never tweeted anything in my life. Lol

Your thoughts ladies/gentlemen?

I apologize in advance if this subject has been brought up over and over again already.  Perhaps someone has a link to share with me  that would be nice.

I'll give you my perspective but my question is what are you looking to accomplish with them?

A blog.  For me a blog is an opportunity to learn a different side than just the visual aspect and what I may find in a review.  It is potentially your opportunity to share things or just have fun that lets someone see a little more or a side you want them to see that doesn't come across in the basic website.   It can be simply a fun way to get things off your chest, interesting musings about who knows what topic, or in some cases serious discussions about things that are important to you.  I've spent some time reading some very well written blogs by ladies that I find amusing, insightful, and sometimes just down right funny.  I love the perspective and she gets to tell it the way she wants it to be told and "heard".

Blogs can drum up additional opportunities for you but they are time consuming, require some thought for the most part, and you don't have to spend time on the interaction with potential time wasters etc.  Its the readers choice as to whether they want to invest the time.

Twitter - Hmm..  Again what do you wish to accomplish?  Twitter can bring considerable drama and you have to be prepared for that aspect.  Yes you can post fun selfies, simple musings, fun polls, etc which all provide insight to you and your personality and can be a great form of marketing.  You must be prepared to potentially invest considerable time in "time wasters", "DM HELL", and we all know that no one has a disagreeable opinion from the safety of a keyboard, just to piss you off.  It will happen, don't kid yourself.  Those are the negatives that can come with it and I'm sure many ladies can chime in with far more personal experience and stories both good and bad from Twitter.   It can also be a blast and a way to expose yourself to literally hundreds if not thousands of potential opportunities where as something has to bring me to your site to read your blog.

That said.  Maybe it's both?  Some fun aspects of Twitter to expand the exposure which lands them on your very interesting blog.  I think a very interesting question would be:  What is the number of engagements that actually get generated by the use of Twitter as the first contact?  I can answer for me and it is two thus far.  There are at least three additional that I'm looking to figure out how to get our paths to cross.

It's back to what do you want it to do for you?

My 2 cents on a cold as hell and snowy evening.   Reading blogs and playing a little on twitter : ) while enjoying a glass of bourbon
