I was wondering if the economy has affected hobbying in LV.  Not to be doom/gloom, but unemploymnet nationally highest since the 70's, national housing market worst since the 40's, Vegas unemployment and housing, could be the worst we have ever seen very soon.  Room rates down, visitation down, retail sales down, etc.  So with all of the economic downturn going on, my question to the hobbyist/provider is, What is the environment with hobbying??  Thanks

Being new since just this past November, I don't really have much to go by, but speaking for myself I have been much busier early on then I thought I would be. I was told by many that it would take a long time to become known, and to get bookings. I could not be starting at a worse time ... etc.

On the contrary, I am staying as busy as I would like to be. Staying fully booked (at least as much as I choose to be. I'm not a high volume gal, nor do I want to be) with no problem.

The economy is certainly the number one topic of conversation these days. But I think when guys come to Vegas, they come here for one reason. To forget about the economy, and to have a good time! We only live once, and life is so short ...

Sweet dreams ...  XOXOX   ~Lorsha

Lorsha, your quick start was not a fluke.  Simply put, you've executed your marketing beautifully.  When you first came to this board, your posts were measured and yet direct.  Your pictures were... let's say, intriguing.  You've come to group events and worked the room.

If you decide to branch out or change careers, you could give Escort Marketing 101 classes.

OK, that's my good deed for the day.  I'm going back to being an antagonistic asshole now.

Yes, I did get a second review.  Thank you for looking out for me and for all of your positive support and feedback.

Kisses-

Or should I say back-side.  BTW, me likey that hiney.

very unique for here and that is that Las Vegas will always be the mecca of poon and debauchery. And yes, as Phil said some of your photos say debauchery with a capital "D". lol

But your so right, they may not come in droves they still come though. And if they come here they want to do what they always do. Play some poker, sleep till noon and go for the poon. hahahah What literary work.

For them the rates do not matter. Yet for locals like Phil and I they DO. They always have and that's the price of being a local in the mecca of poon.

to the hapless out of towners who have to pay to fly to Vegas, then must for a room at the casino,  will probably lose their shirt gambling, and still have to wait three hours for their date.

If anything, the locals should pay MORE.

Does the Drama Llama handle price discrimination? I may have to give him a call....

I continue to try to do my part in keeping the Lovely Ladies from having to apply for unemployment !
Privately have complimented Lorsha on her ability to "self-promote".
But I know other hobbyists who have definately cut back on spending.

Someone (Monk69) "Recession" just posted a link with an article, on on the Gerneral Discussion Board.  I found it interesting.

Well to me of course the economy is affecting the business.  Even if a girl is staying busy, to answer your question, is it affecting the environment of hobbying?? Thats a big fat YES!

If visitation is down, people are driving less, hotel rooms are cheaper because of lower demand, unemployment rate is rising to unbelievable levels, and with foreclosures on the rise.  That means FEWER people coming here to Vegas, that in turn means FEWER phone calls, that in turn means FEWER people are booking appointments!  Its only makes sense!  However, if you want to ask everyone how is it affecting them personally that is a different story, but you didnt ask that.  Even the brothels are having problems, so are the strip clubs, pretty much every business in the country is suffering in some capacity!  Guys are definitely thinking twice about how they are spending their money, and yes people do come here to Vegas to do things and live out certain fantasies, but many of those people are not coming and just staying home!  Even companies are cancelling their annual Vegas conferences/trips here to Vegas and abroad.

I am sure a lot of the local guys have cut back on seeing a girl or two.  I am sure locals have a long list of "to-do's" but with they way companies are handing out pink slips.. guys are starting to shorten those lists.

Hey this is my little disclaimer I hope I didnt sound mean because that was not my intention ok.  I have no problem with anyone here or any of the posts I was just answering the question from the standpoint of the business as a whole.

:)
XOXO

This industry, like any around Vegas, is slowing.  There's some anecdotal evidence that some business practices are changing.

Some providers are staying busy, and even raising rates.  They're the lucky ones.

Some providers are seeing a severe drop off in business.  They are the ones making changes, either by lower their rates and doing more volume or some other creative method.

If you look to the licensed brothels in rural NV, they have longer waiting lists for women that want to work there.  (FYI Sheri's Ranch has a video news segment on their website, noticed a local fav, Callista, doing her share on that program.)  One of the furthest from Vegas, Shady Lady Ranch, has a coupon in LV City Life for $50 off a 1+ hour party.

There was an LV Sun article a while back that covered the state of the industry.  The reporter gave their opinion on what rates worked.

The economy is in the crapper but the rates in Vegas still seem to be the higher than most places.  Just goes to show you that the world's oldest profession is still here.

....if you can't afford it go to CL or don't play!!!!!  I am sick of hearing about the economy, can't you find a better excuse!!!  Maybe you need to find a better job!!!!

Forgive me for saying this, but who cares if you are sick and tired of hearing about the economy. The original poster asked a simple question, and he got some answers. Your answer was obviously a stupid one, because it HAS affected this business. I can guarantee you that most women have seen their business take a downturn from the last couple of years. If you weren't so cllous, I would tell you just go away, but I somehow feel that this won't be the last we see or hear from you, in either this, or another alias.

To all the rest of you, a pleasant good night.

....was you responding to me in the first place.  You wouldn't have needed any forgiveness.  I love it when I hear phrases like "I can guarantee"....you can guarantee what????

And you would not "know" who I am, alias or real handle as they are all aliases on the mens side unless you have chosen to give us your real name to match.  And it makes no difference which I care to use. As long as you make posts that make no sense, yes I will probably be around.

Lashing out at people who are curious about how the economy's affecting things in Vegas doesn't particularly make much of it.

We're having a conversation here. Sorry if you're "sick" of hearing certain things, but nobody made you click on anything. Believe me, none of us are particularly happy about the economy going south- nor is everyone talking about it here using it as excuses to chivvy discounts, which seems to be your concern.

Maybe you need to switch to Sanka.

...you are the guy who likes to stick your finger in the cake to get a taste.  I think you may have forgotten to take your meds today.

The economy is what it is....type in the word economy on this or any other board if you need a synopsis.  It is just like the lazy guy who shows up and asks "who do I see?", without doing the homework.

Perhaps you could talk about my mom wearing combat boots or something.

As for what I am, I guess "amused by someone who thinks trolling is a better way to waste electrons on a message board than questions".

I know it has for me.  If a provider here in Vegas doesnt have a locals rate, or a half hour rate that is reasonable, I am not seeing her.  Trust me there are plenty of ladies willing to entertain for 200/hour.  I sincerely believe that the ladies who have the $500/hour rates wil slowly find another profession.  For those who want to spend the five hundred - good for you and 'YES' I can afford it but chooose NOT to do business with someone who doesnt understand current economy.  Thats my .02
